Healthy Yummy and Delicious Smoothie

I love smoothies, but when you buy them in the cartons from the supermarket you can guess that they probably aren't that healthy - most are filled with sugar and such like. Recently though I've been making my own smoothies after getting a really yummy recipe for them. You only need 3 really easy to get ingredients and less than five minutes later you've got a delicious and filling smoothie.
I tend to make these and have them in the morning, its a really filling breakfast and obviously really healthy. The way that I make it, usually makes about 3 big cupfuls - yummy yummy in my tummy.
So first up, your going to want to gather the ingredients. You'll need berries - I chose frozen ones as it worked out cheaper, milk and yoghurt - I picked the alpro versions as I'm trying to eat less dairy. If you want to - I do add this to all mine - then you could add some protein powder, but this is completely optional. You'll also need some kind of blender to mix everything up.
I usually start with the fruit, and I add 1 cup of the frozen berries into my blender. The berries I used here have Blackberries, Rasperries, Strawberries, Cranberries and Blueberries. Very berry indeed.
Next, you'll add a cup of milk. Put any type of milk you want in. I put almond milk in mine, I think next time I'll try Hazelnut milk or soya milk.
Then to make it really thick and creamy, you add a cup of yoghurt. I would maybe suggest not using regular yoghurt and maybe go for Greek as it would be a lot thicker, but like I said I'm avoiding dairy atm so I went for the Alpro natural one - it is pretty thick so it does a good job for the smoothie.

And tah-dah! You have yourself a nice big batch of smoothie. I don't know why I didn't take a picture of this once it was done, mind fart I guess.

Do you have any smoothie recipes you just love?

Alpro Toppers | Healthy Breakfast creations

A few months ago, I really enjoyed reading the creations that Sandra from The Black Pearl Blog made and showed on her blog. I was really intrigued by Alpro - not being sure if I'd like it or not. After trying Alpro yoghurt and the almond milk I was seriously impressed - it is actually really really yummy!
The whole toppers thing still interested me though - so I took myself off to their website where I noticed they had a little competition where you could ( I think) win a little toppers pack. The other day I got a package through and inside it there was a very colourful box from Alpro. I was actually really confused as to why I was sent it, but then I saw a little note from the lovely people at Alpro.

In the little package there was 4 little toppers pots: Mango Chunks; Honey; Coconut Powder and Mint. I love Honey on my yoghurt, when I have it in the morning I always tend to have it with berries and honey - its very yummy! The Alpro toppers we're brought as a PR "stunt" (is that acceptable to say?) as a way of showing people healthy and yummy things that people could have with their yoghurt. Alpro - obviously is already a healthier alternative to the usual dairy yoghurt. I actually sort of prefer it to the dairy alternative... The mango chunks will be lovely to have in the yoghurt - I'm not sure what else I'll add to it though - I'm definitely going to have to have a little look at how I'm going to mix these and such like.
Do you like Alpro? What do you add to yours?

Health and Fitness

At the start of the year I was doing so so so well with exercising and avoiding junk foods, for the last two or three months though I've been so far from eating healthily and exercising moving that its untrue. Since university finished in May I've basically become a couch potato. I've gone from walking 3 or 4 miles a day to being lucky if I even do 1 mile.
I decided recently that I absolutely had to get back into the way of movement as not only if my overall fitness suffering but so is my skin and the amount of sleep I get. On an average night I'll be awake well into the wee hours, usually I fall asleep around 3am - its currently 1am and I'm not even a little bit tired.
To kick start my body into functioning properly I've been following a 10 day plan that I got on Tumblr. It has quite a strict meal plan and a few easy (Jesus these are not easy for me) to do exercises to do daily. I've been on it for almost a week so I'll update you at the end of it with how I did on it. The meal plan is basically just eggs, poultry, fish (not a fan), fruit and veggies ( also not a huge veggie lover). Oh what have I got myself in for?
I think most of my days are going to be spent eating turkey bacon and boiled eggs with me chocking down greens.
Along with this I'm going to try drinking protein shakes and a detoxing tea. Recently I've been spending quite a bit of money in Holland and Barret - for someone that has no form of income I spend waaaay to much money in there. But anyway, I love going in and having a wee look around at snacks and such like that I can eat instead of devouring packets of crisps and bars of chocolate. I'm currently loving their own brand flapjacks.
Hopefully by exercising and eating better my skin will stop being such a disgusting mess - face and back (anyone know how to get rid of back acne?) and fingers crossed I can fall asleep quicker than usual.

Fitness Fridays | #blogggersWLW

So I was going to do a food diary type thing, but I forgot to take pictures of my meals last week - whoops! But I decided to share with you a really quick and easy breakfast idea - I found this recipe ages ago online and I've basically just changed it to suit me.
When I say Banana pancakes most people look at me like I'm insane - but they are healthy, quick and so yummy. You only need three ingredients: 1 banana, 2 eggs and if you'd like to add some cinnamon for extra flavour - I recommend you do. If your looking for a meal that I completely guilt free and basically free of all bad stuff then I've got you covered.
So gather your ingredients, and if you  have one then grab a blender of some sort - I find it just makes the pancake mix smoother.
So first up, break the two eggs and put them into the blender (if you don't have a blender put them into a bowl) and then cut (mash) the banana and add to the eggs. So now you blend away. (Or mix if you don't have a blender)
Keep mixing until the mixture is smooth and has no lumpy bananas in it. Now is where you add the cinnamon, add as much or as little as you like - then mix again to spread out the cinnamon.
You'll want to use something on the frying pan to stop the pancakes sticking, I just used the Fry Light 1 Cal Spray.
This mix makes about 6/7 pancakes and takes no time at all. A few minutes to cook on both sides and your good to go. Then when you've cooked them all add fruit and some maple syrup and enjoy! Oh and make sure and have some kind of fruit drink as well - its not breakfast without it!

Enjoy!
