Whats In My Bag | University Edition

I've been back at university now for about 4 weeks and I thought I'd do a wee post about the bag I've been using. The one I use is from Vans, its this really cool print galaxy style print. 
I only have two hours of classes a week, so I don't need to carry lots of books around with me, I did carry a massive - like it made my bag so heavy - folder, but I've recently taken it out in favour of leaving it at home cause I don't think I'll need it very much in class. 
The bag doesn't hurt my back or shoulders, so I'm in love with it due to that. If it hurt me then I'd be hating life so much - my last bag had tiny thin straps that were an absolute killer on my shoulders. 

In the big main section of my bag I have my note pad, I use this pad for taking really rough - near messy - notes. I keep my tidy notes in my house in a nicer note pad.
I also keep my diary in my bag, I use it to keep a track of what I have on what day and when I have tests and such like. I got this one from Paperchase, it was one of the few 15/16 diary's they still had left in stock at the time. I think it cost about £12 so it wasn't too badly priced. 

The other thing I have in here is my pencil case, I got this in first year I think from Paperchase. Its held up really well and I'm hoping it will last me till I graduate. 
I have a few other things in the big part of my bag is some pain killers, lady things - for ye know that time - and my purse. 

In the front zip part of my bag I've got a few things. I've got some coloured pens, but I think I'm gonna take these out, I don't use them in class but I do in the house so I'll probably take them out soon. 

I've got some handy hand sanitizer too, I have a bottle of hand sanitizer in every bag I own. I got this one for a few quid from Urban Outfitters. It smells really nice and leaves my hands feeling really clean. Throw in a pack of tissues and I'm ready for the worst sneezing fit or stick situation. 

I've got my calculator in here too, I'm not sure how much I need it though for my classes this year. I know I'll probably need it in my exam again though.

The final thing I have in my bag is my other glasses. These nifty little things help my eyes see things properly because my brain doesn't see things the way other people do. Only down side to these are that they dont have the right prescription in them so they give me a head ache. I'll need to get them sorted soon.

University | My First Year Experience #1

So as I type, I'm actually uncertain on wither or not I'll be able to go into second year. I failed a couple of my exams, I was so annoyed at myself since I only missed passing by 4 marks for each of them. More on that later. So I think I'll split these up into a few different posts? Sounds good I think.
Maybe talk about first day nerves? Things you'll maybe need? Things to wear, since y'know its not like school where you had a uniform. Meeting people and such like.

So at 3am last year I found out that I met my conditions and got 2B's and a C. I'd genuinely never been happier and prouder of myself in my entire life. As the 16th of September got closer though I started to worry, as I knew no one and I'm not the best at meeting people. Luckily there are a few ways to find people on your course. I found a good few, I met all my uni friends through a facebook page and a different freshers page. Two of the people I was good friends with knew people I knew, one boy's mum worked with my mum and one of my best friends went to Primary with Jennifer - the girl I'm probably closest with in University. First thing I would say to you, is really don't be scared to add and talk to everyone you find thats on your course! You're not being weird - I think they'll appreciate it. Everyone is in the same boat as you and I guarantee that they are just as nervous at starting as you are. 

So check for facebook pages for your unis freshers, I think mine was called something like Glasgow Caledonian Freshers 14 or something like that... Another site you could use is Freshers, if you sign up with that you can find other people on your course. OH! And theres also Unii.com, that matches you up with firstly people in your uni, always nice to know more than just people on your course, and you also find people on your course and can chat to them online. 

My university held a few freshers events, and I met a few people from my course in person by going to that. It was a BBQ, but indoors cause it was pouring down. Typical Scottish weather. 

I'm sure most university's have induction weeks, and most (mine didn't) have lots of fresher nights out in their unions. I can't stress enough how much I think you should go to these! I missed out and didn't do much during freshers week - I missed out big time actually for my whole first year. I'm going to put myself out there so much if I get back into second year. 
I would say the induction week is a must do, mine was so boring and most of it was just them talking about the same thing over and over again. 

University is such a different experience to high school, everyone is so much more mature. And the whole environment is just so different! Bag wise, your really going to want to get something really really practical - it needs to be sturdy as most days you'll probably be lugging around note books, textbooks and various other things (lab coats, purses ect). The textbooks you need to buy depends on your course, I only needed two this year. But both books were insanely heavy and took up so much room in my bag. I opted for a backpack - I got mine from Urban Outfitters. 

Stationary wise, you absolutely will need pens, pencils, notepads, calculator (depending on your course) and other bits and bobs. I also got myself a organiser, a lot of my stationary came from Wilko and Paperchase. They have really lovely things and they are (at least Wilko is) fairly affordable. I went all out and got myself several notebooks, organiser, pens, pencils and of course a pencil case. I didn't notice anyone else using pencil cases, but lets face it - its practical to have one. 

The last thing I'll talk about is what to wear, and the answer to that is really what ever you want! I always tend to go for something really comfy and casual, Joni Jeans are good but sometimes a high waisted jean isn't the comfiest when you've been sat in a lecture hall for 2 hours. I really like the Topshop Treggings for lectures, they're comfy and look fairly fashionable. Having a jumper with you is usually a good idea though, as lecture halls are really cold - even more so in the winter months! 

The next post I write, will be maybe about the classes and exams and such like. Next time I post this - I should know if I'm a second year student or not.

I just thought I would do a really quick little outfit post, this is what I wore the other day to University. Its warm, comfy, reasonably stylish and I think it looks kind of nice.

Life post - A bit about me?

I wasn't sure what to name this, hence the relay plain and boring name. I've never really done a "life" type post, but thought I would do one now - a sort of update/ look into my life. My life has been quite busy recently, and I'm sort of amazed that I've kept up with posts and such like.

On the 24th of September I went into my first year of University, for anyone that's interested I'm studying Forensic Investigation. So far I'm really enjoying the course - but not the back pain that comes from carrying my books every day. I've been going to classes for almost a month, its exciting and new - when you go to university, if you're not already there, you will have so much fun and meet so many people. I think during the summer I'll do a few posts for the run up to University starting, to help the new first year students, I found the ones that I read really helpful so maybe someone would find my ones helpful?

My Biology book is so bloody heavy!

In my first few weeks at University I signed up for quite a few things - sports clubs, more specifically dance, the fashion society and the gym. Oh and most recently I've joined the Cheerleader club hahaha. Oh god, this could be funny. Hopefully my joining the fashion society will help me with my complete lack of fashion know how, I honestly wonder sometimes how I manage to leave the house looking semi decent - I do however though, wear the same things over and over. So yeah, hopefully I'll get some style advice from the fashion students and then maybe do some outfit posts. I was going to do an outfit a day for a month, but then I thought that I would be showing the same two or three outfits multiple times. I'm hoping as well to become healthier, so when I get into actually exercising and eating better I could maybe do a post about it if you'd like? Let me know, cause if even just one person wants to see it I will definitely do that.
So far no one I've made friends with on my course knows about my blog or my YouTube, at least I don't think they do...? I'm not really sure how to bring it up with them, so for now I'll leave telling them about it.

I also start my first ever proper job at the start of November, I am really excited for it. It's only a Christmas temp, but its in Boots so it is guaranteed  to be brilliant! I'm quite a shy and quite person naturally so it's going to be hard for me to come out my shell during work, but I think it will be 100% worth it.

As I'm typing this, I don't really know where I'm going with this. But anyway. Maybe I'll mention a little about my blog? Yeah lets do that now. So currently, I am so close to my first "mile stone", by the time this goes up I may have already met it, but when I reach 50 followers on either platform - GFC and Bloglovin' - I will be so happy and over the moon. I was thinking of maybe doing a small giveaway, of one or two of my favourite products? It would, for now, only be for the UK. If I wait till he next little goal, then I would probably make it international, I'm not really sure. I would love any feedback anyone has for my blog, all comments are happily accepted - even if they are bad, they won't be as happily accepted though. haha.
