Lush Sleepy | Review

Hello sleepy people! So, I've been on the hunt for a tub of Sleepy for the loooongest time, but every time I've gone to try find one they've been sold out. So like any sleep deprived person, I went to Lush in Braehead everyday for 4 days until I managed to get my hands on a tub. 
So since I managed to get my hands on it myself and my lovely assistant aka boyfriend aka David, have been trying it out. Davids biggest issue in trying to fall asleep is me. I very much struggle to sleep, and I tend to talk Davids ear off until either I fall asleep or he drowns me out enough to sleep himself. 
I'm pretty much permanently exhausted, I get up early -  say early its around 10 - and workout and go to bed around midnight every night. My issue is though that it takes me ages to fall asleep and then when I do sleep I'm up every few hours. From needing to pee the tiniest bit or having sore legs, and even Davids loud snoring, its a pain in the ass, and not to mention exhausting.

So David and I have been testing this out since I got it and the results are very encouraging to say the least. Every night we used it I nodded off really quickly and only woke up once around 7am to pee - hindsight I should probably have stayed up as when I went back to bed I didn't want to get up till waaaay after 11. 

We forgot to use it one night, and out of curiosity I used one of those sleeping trackers to see how not using it affected me. I got just over 5 hours of sleep it took me hooooours to fall asleep. I felt awful when I woke up too, it was unreal how bad I felt for not using sleepy. 
Another thing I noticed is that when we didn't use it, David's snoring got so bad! Like my mum could hear him snoring while she was in the other room! The next day we used it and his snoring had near enough gone completely!
The cream is a lovely purple tone with slight flecks of glitter in it. I didn't notice the glitter until David pointed it out, the glitter isn't that obvious though so don't worry about that. The cream is so moisturising too, any dry bits I've had on my skin has gone now. 
So not only does this fix all my sleepy problems, it also fixes all my dry skin issues. If you can get your hands on this I would recommend trying it, for me its helped loads in regards to my sleep. If you want help dosing off and staying sleeping then I'd recommend trying this.

Lush Sales Haul | Boxing Day Buys

For whatever reason my brother and I were both awake at 7 on boxing day morning, so like any normal people we decided to go do some sales shopping. So off we went to Braehead, arriving before 8am and hitting up the most important store first - Lush. 
God knows what time they actually opened doors at cause there was already soooo many people in store and a queue had already formed. Scott and I just grabbed literally anything that was part of the Christmas range, and by about quarter past were in line to pay. All in all I think we were in Lush for about an hour? I'm glad with the amount that I got, spending over £100 on everything I got. I kind of wish we had got there slightly earlier so I could have got one of the maaaaassive gift sets but alas they were all gone when I got there. 
So, without further rambling lets look at all the goodies that I bought! 

I got myself 3 gift sets, just y'know for the options of more bombs. I got the Jingle Bells set which came with two bombs, Peeping Santa and Father Christmas - I've tried both before and I like them both lots. I also got the Jester set, this had 4 different items in it: Jester reusable bubble bar; Santasaurus reusable bubble bar, Lord of Misrule bath bomb and Monsters Ball bath bomb. The Jester set came really nicely packaged in one of those scarf things with bells on top too. Santasaurus looks so cute and has such a great name too! The last gift set I got was the Noel set, this also came with 4 things: Lord of Misrule shower cream; Papa Noel shower jelly; Smugglers soul shampoo bar; and Fireside soap. This set has alottttt more options in it than just bath stuff, and to be honest with you until right now I didn't actually realise what was inside it.. I honestly just grabbed it in store and added it to the basket - I got sale eyes.

I also got myself not one, not two,not even 3 but FOUR 500g bottles of Snow Fairy. Can't have enough Snow Fairy, and now I think I'm set till the summer for shower gel. Along with Snow Fairy I got myself a 500g bottle of Bubbly shower gel, it smells amazing and I'm really glad I bought myself a bottle, just one. 

Along with the big bottles of shower gel I got a Snow Fairy fun, 3 different colours so I'm hoping that its easy to pull off a colour to use at a time. There's also a Snow Fairy Body Conditioner, I don't use body products much but Snow Fairy smells amazing so lets hope I actually use this. I also got myself a Santa Baby lip scrub, my bubblegum one is almost empty so at least I have a back up one. 

Now for all the bath bombs! Luxury Lush Pud Bath bomb, Shoot for the Stars, two Never Mind the Ballistic, Golden Wonder & Northern Lights Bath Bomb.

Theres also a bunch of bubble bars here too. Ruby Red Slippers, Candy Mountain, Christmas Penguin and Magic wand bubble bars, finally for the Lush haul of all Lush hauls is the Snow Angel bath melt and a big block of Snow Globe soap!
I'm set for Lush stuff for awhile now I think, god bless the Lush sale!

Purple Shampoo Trialling

In June I decided to lighten my hair and go down the path in search of ashy blonde hair - with thoughts of going silver when I got bored of blonde. I've still not reached the level of blonde/ash that I want, so a couple more times going lighter in hopes of removing the brassy tones aiming for more white tones. 
I've tried really hard to keep my blonde hair looking as light as possible through multiple purple shampoos that claim to remove brassy tones and even lighten blonde hair. So far I've tried three different types: Bleach London's Silver Shampoo and Conditioner; PROVOKE Touch Of Silver Brightening Shampoo; and Daddy O Shampoo from Lush. 

The Bleach London one was the one I tried first. My hair dresser recommended it to me - I'm hoping to soon get the Toning Kit too. The Silver shampoo and conditioner though are seriously good, and for £5 for 250ml its pretty good value too! The bottle I found lasted me a good few weeks, it says to use it every other wash - but I think I used it almost every wash in search of lighter hair. I found it toned and lightened my hair really well, and due to this it got me thinking how other brands would fair in comparison. 
The Bleach London Silver shampoo didn't feel drying on my hair, which I've heard some purple shampoos can do, in fact I found it quite nourishing on my hair. The conditioner was just as nice, leaving my hair feeling super soft after washing - although I'm not sure how much difference this did on the lightness of my hair. 

After my Bleach London Silver shampoo ran out I decided to try the PROVOKE Touch of Silver Shampoo, it was in Morrisons and having looked at it decided to give it a go. Its £3.19 for 150ml of product, making it a little more pricey, especially as the shampoo itself is very runny making it hard to work with - I've probably lost a lot of the product just in trying to wash my hair. Its meant to be used more as a treatment and left on the hair for 5 minutes, I'll apply it and then wash my face brush my teeth ect. I honestly don't like this one very much at all, and for various reasons. Reason number 1. I find the consistency to be too runny. It basically seems like purple water and because of this I find I have to use a lot to cover my hair, and I tend to lose a lot to the bath while trying to apply it. Reason number 2. I honestly don't think it has helped to lighten my hair. At All. At least not compared to the Bleach London Silver Shampoo, my hair is definitely more brassy than it had been before I started using the PROVOKE shampoo. It also doesn't leave my hair as soft feeling as the Bleach London one did. Which brings me to reason number 3. I don't think its good value for money, if it helped the colour a little then maybe I'd think it was worth paying for, but the fact that I've paid £3.19 for a tiny bottle of purple liquid with no benefits. 

The final one I've tried is Lush's Daddy O Shampoo. I don't know if I saw this on someones blog first, or if the first time I saw it was when I was wandering round Lush the day I bought it, either way - its mine now. It says it stops blonde hair going brassy, and keeps the hair looking bright and shiny. This is by far the most expensive option that I've featured, at £5.75 for 100g, Lush is ofc all natural and vegan so its expected to be a little pricier. 
It's probably got the best consistency of the three, its fairly thick and a bit gel like. Scent wise, I also find it to be the nicest. It smells really sweet, a bit like parma violets - in fact the scent hung around so much that while drying my hair I caught whiffs of the smell, it was amazing. 
It removes brassy tones from the hair the best out of the three I think, however it is also the most expensive of the three, costing around £4.50 for a small 100g bottle. After using this a few times my hair was slightly lighter, and now my hair is newly dyed I'm excited to see how much more it can lighten it.

Lush | Sales Haul

I was a little behind in buying anything sales related, and definitely missed out on the Lush sale! I put an order in online for a few things as everything in my local store had sold out by the time I made it into town.

The first thing I decided on getting was the Merry Christmas gift box, I think it was about £9 or £10 and it comes with 5 things inside it: Peeping Santa; Lord of Misrule; Golden Wonder; Dashing Santa; and Cinders. The packaging of this is really nice too, and for the price I think it would have been too good to pass up. 

I've no idea why the picture above is so dull looking compared to the rest of them.... Never mind... I also got the Snow Fairy gift box, this comes with two items: Pink Fun and a bottle of Snow Fairy. I quite like Fun, its such a great wee product and gives great bubbles! 

The last gift box I got was the Santa's Belly gift. It also came with two products, Santa's Belly Shower Jelly and a Red Fun. I've got enough fun to last me a life time now! They both smell amazing though so I'm fair excited to use these. 

Can't do a Lush Christmas order without getting a couple of bottles of Snow Fairy. I think I've now got about 4 bottles of this - so it should last me a fair while now...

Lush Buys

 I haven't been to Lush for the longest time - I've just been running through my little collection, but recently I've been craving great bubbles the kind only Lush can give me... 

 So it was time to welcome back into my life The Comforter bubble bar - if you want lots of bubbles for your bath this is the product to go for. I tend to break mine in half so I get more uses out of it. This is though single handedly my favourite product from Lush - hands down. 

I don't know why I bought this, especially since now I have it home I've noticed it smells a bit minging... This little guy though is part of their easter collection, I'm too lazy to find out what its actually called but I think it was about £2...

Lush Mask Of Magnanimity | Review

I'm on my third tub of this and have convinced many a friend to buy this, so I know its good. Good not only for me but for other people too! I tend to use this mostly on my back and chest - as I get a fair few spots there every so often, and if I have some particularly angry facial spots I'll apply a little on them too.  
I've tried a fair few skin care products from Lush, and I've got so much love for all the face masks I've tried in the past - so it was only natural that I picked this one up. 

This mask is super beneficial, and is packed full of beneficial ingredients. Ingredients such as: Kaolin Clay for oil absorption and deep cleansing; Peppermint Oil to cool and refresh the skin; Honey to moisturise and Aduki Beans to give a gentle exfoliation and to renew the skin. The mask is made up of 14 ingredients, all bar one are 100% natural. And of course, they are completely ethical as they don't test on animals. 
The mask is an incredible green colour with little bits of brown/black bits (probably the beans). It also smells incredible, the peppermint oil is very noticeable in the scent of it - along with peppermint there is another scent I can smell but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. It smells yummy though.   
When this dries on your face, it doesn't go overly tight or feel uncomfortable on the skin. I do think though that it feels a bit odd on your face the first time you use it - I think it could be down to the peppermint oil, as it feels really cool on the skin. 
After the first use, I noticed a visible difference in my skin - especially the ones on my back. The back spots basically disappeared over night - and I'm not the only one that's thought that! Facial spots are so much less angry the day after using this. 
I'd highly recommend this if you suffer from spots, I think you can basically use this with any skin type, be you dry or oily. The smaller 125g tub costs £5.95 and the larger 315g tub costs £9.75. But it is well worth every penny you pay -  I'm about to move onto my fourth tub! I really can't recommend you try this enough.  

Lush Sales Haul

This post is long overdue, but so many things have got in the way and I've been in no mood to do anything at all other than vegetate in my room. But here I am, back and with a Lush Haul. This haul is basically just everything I bought during the Christmas sales in Lush - the whole haul cost about £22, so really should have cost more in the region of £44. Crazy! 

I picked up with Christmas Candy gift set, it contains 4 of their lovely products - Snow Fairy, Candy Mountain, Rock Star Soap and Butter bear, I love butter bear. 

I don't know why I bought this. The Limited Edition Fun, when will I actually use this? I don't know, it just smelt nice - like caramel. So naturally I couldn't leave it behind. 

One can never have too much Snow Fairy, can they? Ofc not! I really should have bought another bottle though... 

Dashing Santa, I think is new for 2014? But I love him, I've already tried him prior to this, so I know for a fact that I love him. 

I can't remember the name of this, but its a massage bar, and it smells like Snow Fairy and was next to the checkout. So yeaaaah... 

 Father Christmas - now this is one cool dude. He is a big cool green dude inside - it leaves for a funny bath. 

I can't quite remember if I liked this or not from last year... He smells like cola cubes and is a bath melt - I love their melts so hopefully I love this one. 

Lush haul

It's been awhile since Id even stepped in a lush store let alone bought anything. The other day though I went in, and let's just say I went a little mad. 

I bought a fair few things I'd never tried, and some Id never seen before - so expect reviews on them! 

I'll start off with the items that are from the Christmas section... So, one of the Christmas items I got was the Dashing Santa bath bomb. This little cute, I think is brand new to this years collection. It smells really fresh and sweet, and I think it smells like sherbet and smells fairly zesty - so a huge plus for me! I'm quite excited to give this one a try and see how it leaves the bath, I'm very picky with how my baths feel on my skin. Weird I know. 

I also got Butterbear, I'm pretty sure this is part of the Christmas section. Butterbear is another of their bath bombs and looks like a little polar bear. Super cute. It doesn't have a strong scent, which can be great when you just want a chilled out silky bath - maybe this will be that bath bomb? The girl in the store said this one is a really moisturising bomb, so I'll see how my skin feels after this, I'm a bit worried the bath might be really oily though... 

The Christmas Penguin is one I genuinely had about 6 of last year. This ones a bubble bar - I adore lush's bubble bars, they're one of my favourite things. The scent of this is something I struggle with a little bit, its slightly florally and zesty, but nothing too over powering. The cute penguin design of this will always draw me back in, and I love how this feels in the bath. Bring me the bubbles!

The final Christmas product I bought was the Snowman Shower Jelly - I loved Whoosh, so obvs needed to get this as soon as I smelt it! The scent is a kind of mix of zest and blackcurrants - I wouldn't say it was entirely blackcurrant though. This jelly doesn't have any glitter in it as far as I can see, which I am really happy about as I wasn't too fond of Sweetie Pie because of all the glitter... 
I also bought myself another Mask of Magnamity, I've converted a fair few of my friends to this. It does such an amazing job of clearing up spots - especially those on the back and chest! I'll never be without this now. 
Another repurchase is the Volcano foot mask, I loved using this when I bought it months ago but this is just such a tricky product to come across - it never seems to be in stock, its that good! Bye bye horrible feet, hello beautiful toes. 
Lemony Flutter must be a new product because I have never seen this before, and boy oh boy does it smell delicious! I adore lemon scented things and this is no exception. This cuticle butter, is really oily so does an amazing job of softening and soothing the cuticles, my mums a fan, I'm a fan, basically its love. 

Speaking of love... I actually bought 3 massage bars but left one at my boyfriends. The one I l left at his is Each Peach, which surprisingly smells more zesty than peachy... But he loves this one, I love how relaxing they are. I do think we use a bit too much of them when we use it as it snapped in half the other day after only about 4 uses... The other ones I got are Strawberry Feels - smells just like strawberry jam, yummy - and Tender is the Night, this one has a quite a vanilla-y smell to it, but nothing over powering and there is another scent hidden in there somewhere. Sorry I didn't get pictures of these out their packets, they just melt as soon as you touch them.

 My all time fave bath bomb right here. Its a simple little creature - much like myself - blackberry scented, purple bath giving , little fizzer. Need I say more? 

Dragons Egg is another of those bath bombs that I just need to have in my stache at all times. Its zesty scent is just a dream. And then ofc, the little coloured discs that float about in your bath. Yay for the Dragons Egg.

A Massive Amount of Empty Products

Since its been an absolute age since I actually made a video or typed up a blog post I've accumulated a stupid amount of empty products. Daisy, my puppy for those of you who don't know, has really enjoyed running around with all the plastic packaging. She has a real thing for plastic stuff, and shoes - the more expensive the better apparently...
I'm sorry if the pictures are a wee bit rubbish, I took them fairly late at night. But I think messing around with the settings made them come out okay, what do you think?

First things to mention are all bath type products. The Body Shops Honeymania bath melt, is absolutely lovely. It gives really nice silky soft bubbles that smell beautiful. If your not an overly huge fan of honey scents I would still recommend giving it a smell - my mum hates honey scents but really liked this one. Another Body Shop product is their limited edition blueberry body scrub. It looked and smelled like jam, the scrub was really good considering it wasn't overly harsh feeling on the skin. And of course it left your skin smelling divine. Another Body Scrub by Soap and Glory this time, this is ( possibly was...) my favourite scrub ever. Its the old design - maybe the formula is different now too - but I love it, it just leaves your skin feeling so so soft and nourished, I'm all for something that scrubs and moisturises in one step. I finished, after the longest time of owning, the Sweetie Pie shower Jelly. I don't know why it took me so long to get through this - I adore Whoosh - I think it might have just been how sweet it smelled or that its a little glittery? Who knows, but it basically just smells like jelly beans but only about 1000 times stronger in scent. Bath and Body Works, oh how I wish you would come to the UK. I did have two products finished from them but I think my mum threw out the other bottle. This mini sized bottle of Japanese Cherry Blossom smells absolutely heavenly, I don't think I'd ever smelt something even remotely similar. The other one I had was one of their aromatherapies bath foam and body washes. It was in the scent Sensual and boy oh boy did it smell good. I need more of it like... I cant think of anything that doesn't seem slightly insulting or rude, hmm. But I really want more of it, its just so good and for $13, which is approx. £8 its not that bad. Yes its maybe a tiny bit more expensive than the average shower gel but its more of a luxurious product, like Soap and Glory and Champeneys would be. 

Hair care now, and I've not used that much in the grand scheme of things. I've gone through another bottle of the 10 Wishes Marrakesh Oil, and I'm very close to finishing off my current bottle. I get this from my hair dresser as it acts as a heat protection and a detangler. The Umberto Giannini hair mask is something I actually finishes months ago and I'm only certain it made my hair feel soft, sorry I can't say much about it. I'm just a bit forgetful sometimes all the time. Since going from natural to red to brown hair I've been using products from my colour so thats why theres a nice empty bottle of the John Frieda Brunette shampoo. I've repurchased this in the big massive salon bottle as it worked out to be better value, I do find that it does help my colour last that bit longer - which is always a plus when getting it coloured is so expensive to start with. Two empty cans of the amazing Aussie dry shampoos. Best dry shampoo I've ever tried. Period. There's no competition with it, I'm still to try more but from the ones I've used this comes out on top. 

Skin care time, I' actually quite surprised at how much skin care stuff I've been using recently. The DHC Cleansing Oil is an absolute love of mine, I've yet to repurchase this exact one but I have bought a few other brands recently. The Philosophy Microdelivery exfoliating face wash is something I bought last year, and I've really enjoyed using it. IT may be a little on the pricey side but I'd been using it 3 times a week for a whole year and that's it only just being used up now, so it really is well worth the money. The Sanctuary Spa Hot Cloth Cleanser isn't something I've had for long, a couple of months maybe. And since it is about a tenner, its a little on the expensive side. I did really enjoy using it but I think next time I might just try the Liz Earle one. The Ren Clearcalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser is such a lovely product to use, your skin feels so clean after you use it, but not tight! I'll definitely be buying this again soon. Can you tell I wanted to get absolutely wanted to get all of the Origins Checks and Balances Cleanser out? I mean look at it! I cut the top off, sign of a good cleanser - looks like it. 

Final thing, is the Hello Mouthwash. I love all the products Hello sell, their mouthwashes all taste lovely and give you a really fresh feeling mouth. I'm currently using the Mojito mint one and I have to say I think it might be my favourite one.
