November Favourites

I was trying to think of things that I've been loving this month, and at first I really wasn't sure. But I've come up with a few things that this month I've been absolutely adoring. Without further warbling and rabbeting, lets see what I've been loving. 

The colder weather has done a number on my skin, with my lips taking the worst of the cold. They feel permanently sore and tight, every year they do this as soon as the weather gets colder. These two products I've found really help my lips feel nicer, look nicer and sting less. First up is my trusty, Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm. I got this last year for my birthday in August, I use it every day at least once a day (two or three times a day in the winter months) and its only just beginning to look like it might be running out soon. I doubt I'll need to buy a new one this side of the new year though. I put a really decent and thick amount of this on my lips and just under them, because this is such a luxe product it takes a wee while to sink in fully, it really does wonders for your lips. Its kind of like a mini treatment for the lips. Once that lip balm begins to wear off, I move on to the more travel friendly of the two - I say this because this is in a tube, where as the Nuxe one is a glass jar. The Lucas Pawpaw Ointment (which I now can't find anywhere!) is a wonderful multi use product, I really only use it on my lips - more so when they are overly chapped or sore, like how they are now. I take this almost everywhere with me, and it doesn't need reapplied overly often - major plus. It goes on really easily and just like with the Nuxe one, you can feel it on your lips for some time after applying it. 

Another product I've been loving using is the Micropedi, I got mine when it was on star gift - so its one of the Nails Inc ones. I tend to use this a couple of times a week and moisturise my feet really well. It really doesn't take long to see results with this, within a few days of using it you can really see and feel a difference in your feet. I tend to have quite hard skin on my feet, and this really sorts this out for me. I was so sceptical about this, but I'm so glad I bought it - I'm a bit annoyed I didn't buy one earlier. 

Another item I've been loving recently is this super soft (and huge!) scarf from New Look. I got it before fireworks night, its black white and pink tartan. Its just the absolute softest and cosiest thing ever, for £14.99 I couldn't really say no - could I? 

A few make-up items now to finish off my favourites for this month. Benefit's Fine One One has been an absolute staple for me this month. Every time I've slapped some make-up on my face this has gone on. Swipe swipe blend blend. Done. It just gives the nicest flush of colour, utterly perfect for me. 

Next, is the new Maybelline liner. Its a dupe for the Benefit one, but I actually prefer it to the Benefit one - I've found recently that the Benefit one flakes and the colour comes away - boo! Also its a fraction of the cost, so if its not for you, then you haven't spent all your hard earned pennies. 

It's that time of the year again girls, MAC Rebel has become a staple in my make-up routine. Cold weather comes, and along with it comes dark lips. This dark pink/ purple is beautiful and I couldn't ask for more from a lipstick. I fall in love with it a little more each time I wear it. 

MAC Duo Palette

My mums friend kindly picked me up a MAC palette while she was in Miami recently, the price difference in the palettes over there is insane! I think it came to approx £7 for the inserts and the palette, which is mad because it costs over £30 in the UK to buy! Absolute madness. 
Anyhoo, I'm hoping to pick up a few colours soon. This obviously isn't going to get filled up over night but I think it will be a nice wee (expensive) project for me. 
I'd love to know what colours you recommend. I'm already looking at Sketch, Cranberry, All That Glitters and Woodwinked. :)

Top 5 | Lipsticks

Recently I've been wearing a few different colours than I usually do, so I thought I would share the five lipsticks that I've really been loving recently. Lipstick used to be the thing I would buy most often, but recently I've been trying to streamline my collection a lot more so I've not been buying nearly as many - shopping my stash as it were.

First up is my MAC So Chaud lipstick. Now this is a lipstick that up until as few weeks ago I'd neglected, its a very spring/ summer colour so I put it away for the winter. Now, though the sun is beginning to shine and the weather is warming up so it means breaking out the prettier brighter colours. This was the first MAC lipstick I ever got and I adore it, in the summer its just the most perfect colour. The smell of it is also really lovely, I can't quite describe what the smells like though. Even though its matte it doesn't feel drying on the lips and I have to admit I adore the way it looks and feels on the lips, I also think it makes my teeth look a fair bit whiter than they actually are.

Next is my much loved, all year round favourite, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Romantic. Just a lovely red, nothing fancy or overly bright. I love the minty smell, although I know some people don't like it very much. Perfect for everyday wear, and really easy to touch up during the day. This is probably my most reached for lip product that I own.
Another of my loves recently is another of my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, this one is in the colour Crush. I would describe this as maybe being a pink toned purple. When you apply it I find that it goes on a fairly dark purple, and throughout the day goes a lovely pink colour. I have to say I really do just love this colour and I have no idea why it took me so long to get it! Shame on me really.

The final two colours that that I've been absolutely loving are nudes. Me? Wearing a nude lip? What has happened? The first nude if one of the Maybelline Colour Whispers in Lust for Blush. I adore this. So easy to apply, and is definitely a your lips but better colour. Its love.

Finally, my Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Lovelight. This has only recently become a huge love of mine, but I adore wearing it! I won this in a giveaway a couple of months ago, and I'm so so so happy with it. I don't know why I never buy myself nude lipsticks, because the two I've been given I utterly adore. The colour is a pinky nude, with what I think is a slight hint of sparkle in it. The formula feels really moisturising on the lips, colour lasting wise I'm not sure as I can't really tell when I'm in need of a touch up, but hopefully soon I'll try more of these lipsticks.

12 days of lipstick #8,#9 and #10

Sorry for not posting yesterday and today - I basically forgot all about it and then I had work so no time to write up a full post. So Boxing Day and Friday were slightly missed out - so let's catch up. I Also didn't leave my house on Boxing Day so I didn't feel the need to put anything other than my nuxe reve de miel on my lips. So yeah for day 8 my lip product was my Nuxe lip balm - see a couple of days ago for info.

The 27th I went to work so I decided to sport my MAC So Chaud lip stick - I chose this because it has insanely good lasting abilities and the colour isn't like my usual reds. I hold a lot of love for this lip stick. 

                                     

This picture really doesn't do it justice though - it looks more red than it actually is. In person - if you have this - it is really more orangey. So beautiful. Can we all please take a minute to appreciate how lovely it is?

So today, day 10 the 28th. I didn't do much. Had a bath with some of my wonderful Christmas presents - they were bath items, would be weird of me to bathe with non bath products. I did some exercise and I filmed a couple of YouTube videos. So makeup was worn - it was minimal and lip colour was applied. The lip colour I decided to go for was Maybelline's Colour Sensational in 540 Hollywood Red. Its a very pretty dark pink / purple colour. I think it looks very elegant and classy. Some what more grown up than my other lipsticks.

12 Days of Lipstick | #2

So, yeah. I kind of fell behind on this. My second post was meant to be on Saturday but by the time I got ready to go out I didn't have time to do a post. And if I'm being totally honest I don't remember getting home and I woke up really late the next day feeling sicker than a dog - I really don't get that saying.

But lets go back to that horrible night. I wore my MAC Rebel lipstick. Everything about the lipstick is beautiful. The beautiful pink and purple tones - to me - make it appropriate for both day and night time wear. And I also think it is perfect for all seasons - I've never been a follower of trends ( I tend to jump on the trend wagon after its long left the station).

I'm really wanting to try MAC Diva and Plumful - they are really similar but they both look so beautiful. Hopefully I can get back to doing these posts ( I've been such a lazy blogger).

Giveaway! Wandering between 50 and 100

The title to this post is a little silly, but I thought calling it 'Giveaway' was a little boring. And since I haven't quite reached 100 followers, but made my goal of 50, that I would call it what I have.

MAC Rebel Lipstick

Last week (probably not last week by the time this post goes live..)I woke to a tweet from Zoe telling me I had won her 100 subscriber giveaway, where I won a MAC lipstick of my choice. I decided I'd quite like to try Rebel, so went for that one. Since it arrived I have basically been wearing it non stop. I love it so much! I was they type of girl before that couldn't see how people could justify spending so much on a lipstick - but now I'm converted and all I want is more and more of their lipsticks.  

The colour on the bullet looks a lot more of a dark purple, but on my lips it looks more of a deep dark pink. This is a satin finish, but to be honest with you when I use my little lip brush to apply it, then it looks more on the matte side.
This lasts so long on the lips, I only really need to re-apply this once throughout the day and even then I don't really need to. I wore it to University on a day where I was in at 10am - so the lipstick was applied around 9am - and I finished at 5pm, the lipstick wasn't as dark and wasn't nearly as purpley looking but it was still there - it had gone more of a bright pink colour. This lipstick looks good on anyone, and I think I'm able to say this as my mum, aunt, cousin and I all tried this on and it looked good on all of us. And trust me when I say this, we all have a different skin tone - I'm pale and the rest are sort of tanned. I'm sorry I haven't got a post of me wearing this, but I'm sure there will be one on my Instagram somewhere.

MAC matte lipstick - So Chaud

At the end of August I decided I was going to go into the MAC store and buy myself a lipstick. Although I do already have a MAC lipstick, I'm pretty sure it is a fake, that's what happens when you buy from eBay I guess. I've been lusting over them for long enough. When I went in I was a little shocked at how busy it was, usually when I've been in there's only been one or two other people. Not this time, the shop was full. I struggled to get one of the girls that worked there to help me with finding what I was after. When I did get ahold of one, she was really nice and helpful.

When I went in I wasn't 100% sure what lipstick I wanted but new there were three that I really wanted. The MAC girl kindly applied the lipsticks on me one after another so I could decide which one I liked best. We all - the MAC girl, my mum and I - decided that So Chaud looked best.
I love red lipsticks, but I have lots of red lipsticks, so So Chaud was perfect for me. It is an orangey red lipstick, so still what I love but slightly different to what I usually go for.

 The lipstick is beautiful, I really can understand why people have lots of these. I would love to have more but the price of them just won't allow me to keep buying them - it's why I've not bought one sooner.
Although this is a matte lipstick, it doesn't cling to the dry patches on my lips like some matte ones.

Apologies for this frightful picture, its the only one I could take that best showed the colour of the lipstick. I lightly applied this with a lip brush so I could get a nicer finish, I am really bad for going over the lines. The lipstick if a little drying, if you put a good lip balm on before hand I don't think you would have much of an issue with it.

Lipstick Love

Hi, my name is Sarah and I'm a lipstickaholic. My love affair with lipsticks is one that is making my bank balance rather sad. Over the last few months I have considerably increased my lipstick collection. I have sticks, stains, pencil style ones and glosses. I will admit that the majority of my lipsticks are red. I own both high end and drug store lipsticks, though most of them are drug store. I'm the type of girl that would rather buy 2 or 3 cheaper lip sticks rather than buying one high end one.

I'm going to show the ones I have by splitting them up into brands, I think that will be the easiest way to show them and that way as well I wont be all over the place, also if I have multiple colours I can talk about them all in the one go rather than doing each of them one after another. 

Revlon Lip Butters

I have only have two lip butters, one of which may have gone missing from my mums make-up bag and some how found its way to mine. Cotton Candy is the colour I would reach for if I were only wanting a slight wash of colour. Its a really lovely light pink colour, I adore it especially for those days where I can't really be fussed trying to apply lipstick carefully. One of my favourite colour that I have is Candy Apple, its a beautiful red colour, I think it maybe has slightly orangey undertones. Its a beautiful red colour, I think its more wearable than some of my other reds since its not quite as bright. 

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

I got this awhile ago when they originally came out, and recently I have rekindled my love for them. I only have the one colour from the collection since at the time that I got this the colours were quite limited. I really like the smell of these, the smell very minty some people don't like that but I love it. The colour lasts for a very long time and I find that you don't need to touch it up very often. I have the colour Romantic, its a red - who would have guessed -its a lighter red, so again is more wearable than most other reds. 

Revlon Colour Lustrous Lipsticks

I've never had one of these lipsticks before, at least until recently. I bought this because of the colour, Kiss Me Coral, it is such a beautiful burnt orange colour. From what I can tell it is quite long lasting. Honestly though because of the colour I couldn't care less how long it lasted, since this is maybe the most beautiful colour I own. 

Maybelline Colour Sensational 

I have the colour 540 Hollywood Red, this colour is a dusty pink colour. I think it is maybe the most sophisticated colour I own, its a very grown up colour. I don't wear it very often but when I do I feel so grown up and happy. Its one of the lipsticks I wear to feel a little more confidant with out being bold in a red lip. 

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick

This is one of the newer additions to my collection. I would say that the colour is a dark berry red, the colour is really pigmented and lasts a fair while, I would say you only need to touch this up once of twice through out the day.  

Rimmel Apocalips 

As soon as these came out I was desperate to get my little paws on them, and boy am I glad that I did. My mum has some of the colours and I got a couple. The ones I have are Stellar and Big Bang. I have a whole blog post on these since I loved them so much, so if you are interested you can go check that out if you like. Stellar is such a beautiful colour, its very much so a pink colour but I think it has red in it to- as my mum was convinced that it was a red shade. Big Bang is an amazing bright red colour. They last a long time since they are like a gloss and stain hybrid. They are very creamy and they are surprisingly moisturising. 

Barry M Lip Paints

I have 3 lipsticks by Barry M, the first of which I've had for a couple of years - maybe not as long but I've had it for awhile. I used to use this religiously, every day for months. I've only got a little bit left of it, I don't know what the shade is since the name has rubbed off, but its the green on that turns pink. I loved using this since it would get darker throughout the day - it also takes a heck of a lot to take it off (I think its like a stain).

Another I have was a complete fluke buy, I don't know if I like the colour or not. The colour is shade 53, it is a pinky coral colour and it is unlike any colour I have ever bought or worn. I think that may be half the reason I'm unsure of it, due to the fact that I more so wear reds. 

The final Barry M lipstick I have is in the shade 121, this is a bright red colour. I think the amount of red lipsticks I have is ridiculous. I this is quite a matte colour, and it is quite drying - which is sad since its such a lovely colour ( I have really dry lips normally so this really isn't good for my wee lips).

Benefit Lip gloss 

This is the only proper gloss that I own, I have dandelion. I wear it over matte red lipsticks, just a little in the middle of my lips to give just a bit of depth and shine. 

YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick

Another of my many eBay purchases, this is maybe one of my best purchases. I got it for a total bargain, I still class this as a high end purchase - I paid £12 for it so its kind of a joke - this is like my baby. The packaging is beautiful and the formula is so creamy and lovely.

MAC Lipstick

Yet again another eBay purchase, for a few pounds I got my hands on one of the limited edition Lady GaGa lipsticks. The one I have is in the shade Sheer Plum. This looks nothing like a plum colour when you just look at it, when you apply it though it looks slightly more plumy. I would say this is not a plum colour and more so a  pink with orange undertones. I've not used this in a fair while so I've not got much of a clue when it comes to its lasting, but it is a very creamy lipstick. 

ELF Matte Lip Pencil

I have not used this in a very long time, the colour is natural, it is a nude lip colour. I've become much more of a red and orange colour lipstick gal, so nude colours have been pushed aside and hidden away in the back of a box.
