Christmas of 2016 seems like aeons ago but also like it was just the other week, but anyway, I got the Huda Beauty Red Edition of the Liquid Matte Minis for my Christmas last year. I've played around with them a fair bit and more recently started to use them again, so what better time than now to finally get around to reviewing them?

Too Faced Melted Lipstick | Melted Ruby Review
Every time I saw these online I wanted to buy one, but I kept holding off, because firstly £19 is a lot for a lip product and secondly I hadn't seen any reviews. Then Michelle from Thou Shalt Not Covet posted a fair few reviews on the Too Faced Melted lipsticks, and I was instantly in love. I didn't actually make a purchase though until "National Lipstick Day", cause y'know Debenhams had £5 off any lipstick. Any excuse really to buy a new lippy. Did I really need another red, probably not but I now don't think this is like the other reds I own, lets talk about why shall we?
So first of all, I don't have a lipstick that is housed the same way as this. Also I don't think anything in my collection is a similar formula - yes there are the Rimmel Apocalips, but they don't feel the same and they certainly don't apply as easily as the Melted lipsticks. I initally thought the colour would be similar to the colour of packaging, a nice pillar box red. Its not, but I quite like that its not. The colours different for me.
I think this is most definitely more of a pink toned red, and I think it does look a bit more pink toned on the lips. I really don't think the pictures do it justice, but I really do like the way it looks on. They do last a fair while, just like with most products the colour began to fade after awhile but it just went to lots of different pink shades - really purdy. I don't notice it clinging to the dry patches on my lips and transfer to cups and such like is totally minimal.
My puppy does not look impressed, she had just had a hair cut ( I lol'd at her when I saw her all short) and I think she was a wee bit grumpy and tired.
What do you think of these lipstick/stains?

NYX Lipstick in Snow White | Review
Recently I did a swap with the lovely Rena from Kiss and Makeup and one of the items she kindly sent me was a NYX lipstick. I'm a huge lover of lipsticks, so this was more than welcome in my ever growing collection.
The colour Rena picked out for me is Snow White. It is possibly the most perfect deep red, its quite a dark red I would say - maybe a bit vampy. But I love it. A lot of the reds I have in my collection are very bright, so this is quite different from the rest. The colour is actually really similar to my hair now that it's been dyed!
Packaging wise, the NYX lipsticks remind me of the MUA ones. Basically just a plain black tube, with the logo for the company and a little bit of colour to give an idea of the shade at the bottom of the tube.
I really love the way this looks on, I think it really compliments my paleness - and I think it makes my teeth look whiter! This is definitely going to be one of my most reached for lipsticks - it looks like it would be absolutely perfect for all year wear. WOO!
The colour does last a fair while, the deepness of the colour lasts a couple of hours then your left with a nice paler red.
After trying this I think I'd be quite interested in maybe getting a few more colours, as I'm really really impressed with this.
What colours would you suggest I get, do you like these lipsticks?

Glasgow Urban Decay Event + Haul
So a week or so ago I went to an event run by Urban Decay in Glasgow wit a bunch of my friends, it cost £5 to go to it - but you got this back as a voucher later. It was really really fun - the event was basically just giving us the chance to look at and see the new products in action. The absolutely gorgeous make-up artist Danielle - who's YouTube can be found here - demonstrated, on other UD girls, the Naked 3 palette, Naked Skin and the new Naked lip glosses. I unfortunately didn't take pictures at the event - silly me - but trust me when I say that I left wanting every single last product used.
After the demonstrations we were able to go back to the counter and purchase till our hearts were content. It was pretty mad, so many people attacking the counter to try and get their hands on all the absolutely stunning products. If you spent £50 or more on the night you got a little goodie bag with it, so y'know I just had to spend £50.
I walked away feeling happy with what I got, although some of the item I originally wanted weren't in stock. But I'm really happy with the things I got, I knew I wanted a lipstick and a eye liner - I wanted a concealer but they were all out.
I bought one of their Revolution Lipsticks in the colour F-Bomb. Its possibly the creamyest lipstick I've ever used, the formulation of these is just amazing. It lasted such a long time, fading out to just a pale pink. Because it is such a bright red, you do need to be quite careful when applying it so you don't smear it all over your mouth. But, I have to say - it is probably one of the nicest lipsticks I own.

I've been meaning to buy this setting spray for the longest time, and I finally picked it up. At £20 I cringed a little when I bought it, but I have to say from the few times I've used it - its really worth it. I wore this on a night out in a hot sweaty night club and I don't think my make-up budged. It looked like my eye make-up and my foundation were still in tack - purdy impressive I think.
This is the most unbelievably good eye liner ever. Another item I wore to the horrible sweatyness of a club, and this didn't budge. Not. One. Bit. And boy is this hard to get off at the end of the night. It seriously doesn't budge, like you really need to scrub away at your eyes quite a fair bit before it budges. The colour is a really dark purple colour that can look a little black sometimes but it is most definitely a beautiful purple. Its a really creamy liner, that is able to be smudged if you work quick enough - I think you have about 30 seconds to smudge them out before they set properly. I'm definitely going to pick up a few more of these soon.
The final thing was this little gift set, it contained 3 sample sizes of a few of their products. Naked Skin, their eye primer and four of their lipsticks. I've not actually tried these out, but I'm sure that I'll be using naked skin very very soon.

12 Days of Lipstick #12
It seems to be normal now that I write these posts on the train or a bus. Today I had to get up at 7am in order to be ready to leave for work at 9 - I have to leave my house at 9 a whole hour before work so that I can travel there. Since I got up so early I basically just grabbed any lipstick. I'm actually kind of suprised that I didn't pick one that I've already used for the last 12 (lol) days. The one I went for was Revlons super lustrous lipstick in kiss me coral. This is actually really really similar to MAC So Chaud - it's a really lovely orangey red. It's one of the colours that I wore almost everyday during the summer - so that shows that I really liked it!
So that's if for my 12 days of lipstick, be it a little behind.
Xx

12 days of lipstick #8,#9 and #10
Sorry for not posting yesterday and today - I basically forgot all about it and then I had work so no time to write up a full post. So Boxing Day and Friday were slightly missed out - so let's catch up. I Also didn't leave my house on Boxing Day so I didn't feel the need to put anything other than my nuxe reve de miel on my lips. So yeah for day 8 my lip product was my Nuxe lip balm - see a couple of days ago for info.
The 27th I went to work so I decided to sport my MAC So Chaud lip stick - I chose this because it has insanely good lasting abilities and the colour isn't like my usual reds. I hold a lot of love for this lip stick.
This picture really doesn't do it justice though - it looks more red than it actually is. In person - if you have this - it is really more orangey. So beautiful. Can we all please take a minute to appreciate how lovely it is?
So today, day 10 the 28th. I didn't do much. Had a bath with some of my wonderful Christmas presents - they were bath items, would be weird of me to bathe with non bath products. I did some exercise and I filmed a couple of YouTube videos. So makeup was worn - it was minimal and lip colour was applied. The lip colour I decided to go for was Maybelline's Colour Sensational in 540 Hollywood Red. Its a very pretty dark pink / purple colour. I think it looks very elegant and classy. Some what more grown up than my other lipsticks.

Sorry about there being 3 days in the one post. Tomorrow will be different. (hopefully)

12 Days of Lipstick | #2
So, yeah. I kind of fell behind on this. My second post was meant to be on Saturday but by the time I got ready to go out I didn't have time to do a post. And if I'm being totally honest I don't remember getting home and I woke up really late the next day feeling sicker than a dog - I really don't get that saying.
But lets go back to that horrible night. I wore my MAC Rebel lipstick. Everything about the lipstick is beautiful. The beautiful pink and purple tones - to me - make it appropriate for both day and night time wear. And I also think it is perfect for all seasons - I've never been a follower of trends ( I tend to jump on the trend wagon after its long left the station).

12 Days Of Lipstick #1
So I thought as a little extra post, and a way for me to post more often, I would do the 12 Days Of Lipstick (TAG?). I saw that Miss Budget Beauty was doing this TAG and I thought I would do my version - her one is almost over :((.
Even if I don't wear lipstick everyday - I'll post whatever I'm wearing on my lips even if its just a lip balm. This should in theory mean that I use 12 different lipsticks - showing the same ones over and over might get boring. In theory this should be up everyday - that is if I don't miss a day and the 12th post will be on Christmas day!
So today I was just going into university for a test and wanted something quick simple and hydrating - that of course meant there was only one option for me. That option was Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Romantic. These last for hours and I've found that when they do start to fade the become a lovely dark pink colour - sort of your lips but better. They hydrate your lips, which for me is a huge plus. And it smells pretty darn good to, minty yaay! For what ever reason I can't take pictures of my mouth - so here are a couple of my face to show the lip colour.

Tomorrow is my friends 18th birthday party so I'll be getting all done up for that - maybe a MAC lipstick will make an appearance?
Do you like the balm stains?

MAC Rebel Lipstick
Last week (probably not last week by the time this post goes live..)I woke to a tweet from Zoe telling me I had won her 100 subscriber giveaway, where I won a MAC lipstick of my choice. I decided I'd quite like to try Rebel, so went for that one. Since it arrived I have basically been wearing it non stop. I love it so much! I was they type of girl before that couldn't see how people could justify spending so much on a lipstick - but now I'm converted and all I want is more and more of their lipsticks.
The colour on the bullet looks a lot more of a dark purple, but on my lips it looks more of a deep dark pink. This is a satin finish, but to be honest with you when I use my little lip brush to apply it, then it looks more on the matte side. This lasts so long on the lips, I only really need to re-apply this once throughout the day and even then I don't really need to. I wore it to University on a day where I was in at 10am - so the lipstick was applied around 9am - and I finished at 5pm, the lipstick wasn't as dark and wasn't nearly as purpley looking but it was still there - it had gone more of a bright pink colour. This lipstick looks good on anyone, and I think I'm able to say this as my mum, aunt, cousin and I all tried this on and it looked good on all of us. And trust me when I say this, we all have a different skin tone - I'm pale and the rest are sort of tanned. I'm sorry I haven't got a post of me wearing this, but I'm sure there will be one on my Instagram somewhere.
I love this lipstick, what are your favourite MAC lipsticks?

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lipstick | Purty Persimmon
I've found that these give a good 4 or 5 hours wear before you may need to apply again. Pretty impressive for a lipstick that is so cheap. Why can't we get wet n wild? I'd honestly buy everything if it came to the UK.
Have you tried any of these lipsticks?

Maybelline Color Whisper | Berry Red
Maybellines Colour Whisper's haven't quite made there way to the UK yet - I don't know why, but please may they hurry on over! So they are quite hard to get your hands on, Zoe was kind enough to pop one in my swap box. The one she sent me is Berry Red.
The packaging of these is sleek, whilst still having an element of cuteness. The plastic tube is dark red - depending on the colour of the lipstick depends on the tube colour - colour and is slightly see through. On the sides of the tube are the words "color whisper", the tube is fairly skinny - at least in comparison to other lipsticks I own.
| This picture doesn't show how lovely this colour is. |
Have you tried any color whispers?
