Rimmel Rita Ora Nail Polish | Rain Rain Go Away

Say hello to my new favourite nail polish! This stunning Rita Ora nail polish from Rimmel is just the shade I've been wanting, Rain Rain Go Away is the perfect pale grey purple shade, its the colour I've been looking for for ages!

Ever since I bought it I've had it on my nails. Two coats lasted me a very long time, it managed to last through two shifts at work without so much as a single chip. It was 5 days before I even reapplied my polish, and 7 days in total before it so much as chipped. 
For the tiny price £3.99 this colour is worth every penny and so much more for me! It lasts so well without the use of a top or base coat.

Small Boots Haul

I went and spent some Boots points the other day, so here is the results of my little spree. 
I really only went in with the idea of getting a pale coloured nail polish - preferably a grey one. I definitely didn't plan to get most of this. 

I noticed these new blushers from Collection that looked pretty cool so I decided to get one of them, if they are good then I'll be sure to get more. They claim to be mistake proof, and I suck so badly at blusher so we'll soon see if they live up to their claims. 

The only things I planned on getting were these nail polishes, the colours look so lovely on and I've decided the Rimmel Rita Ora one is my new favourite (its in the shade Rain Rain Go Away). Its just such a lovely pale grey purple shade. The Barry M one is in the shade Almond (I think...) 

Final two things now, both are contour kits - why I thought I needed two is beyond me. The first kit I saw was the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit and the other is the new Maybelline Mastersculpt kit in the shade light medium. Hopefully my pale skin doesn't look orange with these...

Latest In Beauty | The Glamour Beauty Edition

I was out walking my dogs when I saw on twitter the new Latest In Beauty Glamour Beauty Edit box. If I can remember correctly I had missed out on previous boxes from them - le cry, so y'know like any rational person I decided that I absolutely must have it. I didn't even wait till I got home before ordering a box, dog walking and box ordering. The box costs £16.95 inc postage and its contents were worth £86 - I think thats crazy good value!

The box itself is lovely, the neon pink against the white back ground looks stunning - or at least I think it is. There was two products in the box that I was really excited for and new that they made the box more than worth buying!

These products were by far the products I was most excited to get my hands on, the Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick I got is in the Cherub - I don't think all the boxes had the same shade though... This is one of their new nude shades and retails at £18.50. Considering the box is £16.95, you get an amazing deal as it is worth more than what you pay for the box! I've not tried the shade yet but it looks like it could be a really lovely colour - maybe my perfect nude? We'll see... 
The next item I was really excited to get was Magnifibres Brush On False Lashes, this retails for £21 on their webpage - it can be found for cheaper elsewhere but you get a money back guarantee when you buy it straight from them. I've wanted to try this for ages, I'd seen it awhile ago on blogs and the results it gave looked amazing! I'm really happy I get to try it out before spending so much on it - if it works then I'll be so so happy. I'll write up a blog post to let you know how I find it. 

The Bourjois Cream Blushes were something that I'd wanted to try for awhile, but being rubbish at blush and not being sure about the colours or how to apply it I kept putting it off. The shade I got is 01 Nude Velvet, it looks really natural and nothing to crazy - hopefully I'll manage to work with this and make it look good on me. 
Crabtree and Evelyn Nail Lacquer in Apple. When I first saw this I was a little like - what is C&E, then I looked at the bottom of it and understood - I didn't know that Crabtree and Evelyn did nail polish, I thought it was only creams and body things they sold, but what do I know - eh? I love a good red nail polish, personally I prefer the darker shades to lighter ones. This colour looks absolutely stunning! When you look at it in the light it looks like it has gold running through it - definitely need to apply this soon! 

 The Toni & Guy Glamour Volume Plumping Whip, this retails at £7.19 and looks pretty cool. It claims to give body and bounce - both of which my hair could do with. I think it looks like a thick body butter in the tub but feels a lot more creamy, it doesn't smell like anything special - I think just like typical hair stuff. I can't wait to try this and see if it can give my hair a wee bit of oomph. 
The DHC Deep Cleansig Oil really interests me. It's £21.50 for the full sized 200ml bottle - for whatever reason I thought this was a lot more expensive than it is. I've never used a facial oil before, I just figured my skins oily therefore I do not need an oil for my skin. Apparently though oily skin loves oils, especially if you have dehydrated skin (which apparently I do). I'm looking forward to trying this, hopefully it'll sort my skin out.   
I think there is now a BB cream/thing for everything now, the Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan BB Skin Perfector retails for £6.99 and I'm quite excited to try this - I really like Rimmel tans, they are the only ones I've found work for me and they are reasonably affordable. 
Hawaiian Tropic Satin Protection Ultra Radiance Sun Lotion SPF30 is available for £5.99, it smells so lovely - like coconuts, which is odd cause I usually can't stand the smell of it. It feels really silky and absorbs quickly into the skin, it should get a lot of use as it has been uncharacteristically sunny in Glasgow recently. And I've gotten just the tiniest bit darker. 
The final item in the box was the Velvotan mit, it costs £2.99 - more than I'd usually spend on a mit, but it looks nice and I'll use it with the Rimmel tan. 

The products in this box are really amazing, it is seriously worth the money you've paid for it. I'm not sure if there are still some left but if there are then I would seriously recommend nabbing one as soon as you can.

12 days of lipstick #6 and #7

So yesterday by the time I got in I was so tired all I wanted to do was sleep so I didn't have time to take pictures for and write up this post. So yesterday I had another 6hr shift and since it was Christmas Eve I decided I wanted to wear a red lip, a bold one. But y'know I wouldn't have had time to keep up a bold lip so I went for a nice red lip gloss.

The one I decided on was the Australis Mint Condition Lip Gloss - I was sent this in a swap about a month ago. Its a lovely red, not to bright and doesn't require a lot of touch ups since the colour is quite staining. I applied it three times yesterday: morning, noon and evening.

Today, Christmas Day, I decided I'd wear my new lipstick that my mum gave me in my stocking. It was the Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in the colour Dark Night Water-loops. This is just such a beautiful dark purple that fades out to a dark ruby pink. If you don't have it you really should get it.

I hope you don't mind the selfie with my gran, its the only picture with me wearing it that I have.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara Review

Awhile back, I was browsing ASOS (what else is a girl meant to do when bored?) and noticed that Rimmel items were discounted. It was then I decided to add the Retro Glam mascara to my basket and buy it - without doing any research on it (something I usually do). When it came I just put it aside as my absolute favourite mascara - YVES Rocher Sexy Pulp - hadn't ran out yet. It was when a uni friend said that she had heard bad things about it that I put it even further into my collection. I've never done a negative review before because I generally tend to do a lot of Googleing on a product before finally picking it up - that is probably where I went wrong with this. But I suppose there are going to be a few bag eggs here and there - it helps you find the superb eggs.

Recently my Sexy Pulp started to run out - and since the Glam eyes one had a similar brush I decided to start trying it out. The first thing I noticed was it was very wet, other bloggers said it maybe just needed to dry out and then I might like it. After it started to dry out, I noticed it started to clump - for me any mascara that is really bad with clumps is a huge no no. I could at first forget the clumps - it gave a really good voluminous finish - all be it my lashes looked fake because of how dark they looked. It was when I noticed how much the mascara flaked that I decided I just couldn't use it any more. I had only used it for about 2 weeks and it got really really dry so so quickly - I can imagine you would need to repurchase this really often.   

I'm sorry if this post seems a little bit ranty or rambly ( its 1:20 am and I'm buzzing off energy drink after work). My next review will hopefully be a positive one.

#TheWinterProject Week 1 | Favourite Winter Nail Polish

On twitter I noticed a couple of people talking about The Winter Project, I love series type posts so I jumped at the chance to take part in this. I quickly emailed Kellie about taking part, and now here I am getting waaaaay to excited to join in with this. Winter is definitely my favourite time of year, I love the cold weather and of course CHRISTMAS!! So every Tuesday at 6pm I will be posting the weeks topic from the Winter Project.
So I missed out last week, so both week one and week two will be going up within days of each other. This is for week one and I'll be talking about the nail polishes I love most for winter time. I love dark reds, purples and blues for winter time. I've yet to get myself a lovely blue for this year, but I think I'll find one soon. I love dark polishes all year round, they tend to look better on my nails than pastels and bright nail polishes do.

So first up is by Nails inc and it is in the colour Piccadilly Circus. I got this ages ago free in a magazine, its such a lovely deep dark pink/red colour.

Next up is by Rimmel and its in the shade Black Cherries. My bottle of this is starting to run out, so I'm going to have to go and get myself a new bottle. This is a really dark red/purple, that looks almost black in some lights. The polish is really thick so you could easily get away with only one coat. It lasts a good 5 days without chipping, I really love this colour!

My final favourite is one of Barry M's new matte colours. I have the colour crush and I love it so much already. It doesn't have the best lasting ability, but the colour is so cool and the finish is so lovely.

Little ASOS make-up haul

So many hauls recently, can I call this a haul since there are only three items? Anyway, I made a little impulse buy, a couple of days before my spending ban started.

 I've been looking for a new mascara for quite awhile, and this one has a similar brush to the one I currently use - but its a fair bit cheaper. The Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara has a big brush and I can't wait to use it.

I never used to really care about how my eye brows looked, so I never really did much to them. I have recently though been trying to take better care of them, and make them look a bit nicer. I got the Lord and Berry eyebrow pencil, since it was a decent price and it looked like it could be quite good. I got the colour Brunette since it looked closest to my colour, although it looks a little light now that I have it. 

I've went from being a girl who only ever had one foundation to a girl that has quite a few different ones. The newest addition to the family is this Lord and berry one, I got this in the lightest shade possible - since I am fairly pale. It looks to be a pretty good match to my skin colour. I was a little surprised at the size of the bottle when it arrived - it seems really small - especially since it costs £19. Oops, oh well. It better be some foundation.

Lipstick Love

Hi, my name is Sarah and I'm a lipstickaholic. My love affair with lipsticks is one that is making my bank balance rather sad. Over the last few months I have considerably increased my lipstick collection. I have sticks, stains, pencil style ones and glosses. I will admit that the majority of my lipsticks are red. I own both high end and drug store lipsticks, though most of them are drug store. I'm the type of girl that would rather buy 2 or 3 cheaper lip sticks rather than buying one high end one.

I'm going to show the ones I have by splitting them up into brands, I think that will be the easiest way to show them and that way as well I wont be all over the place, also if I have multiple colours I can talk about them all in the one go rather than doing each of them one after another. 

Revlon Lip Butters

I have only have two lip butters, one of which may have gone missing from my mums make-up bag and some how found its way to mine. Cotton Candy is the colour I would reach for if I were only wanting a slight wash of colour. Its a really lovely light pink colour, I adore it especially for those days where I can't really be fussed trying to apply lipstick carefully. One of my favourite colour that I have is Candy Apple, its a beautiful red colour, I think it maybe has slightly orangey undertones. Its a beautiful red colour, I think its more wearable than some of my other reds since its not quite as bright. 

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

I got this awhile ago when they originally came out, and recently I have rekindled my love for them. I only have the one colour from the collection since at the time that I got this the colours were quite limited. I really like the smell of these, the smell very minty some people don't like that but I love it. The colour lasts for a very long time and I find that you don't need to touch it up very often. I have the colour Romantic, its a red - who would have guessed -its a lighter red, so again is more wearable than most other reds. 

Revlon Colour Lustrous Lipsticks

I've never had one of these lipsticks before, at least until recently. I bought this because of the colour, Kiss Me Coral, it is such a beautiful burnt orange colour. From what I can tell it is quite long lasting. Honestly though because of the colour I couldn't care less how long it lasted, since this is maybe the most beautiful colour I own. 

Maybelline Colour Sensational 

I have the colour 540 Hollywood Red, this colour is a dusty pink colour. I think it is maybe the most sophisticated colour I own, its a very grown up colour. I don't wear it very often but when I do I feel so grown up and happy. Its one of the lipsticks I wear to feel a little more confidant with out being bold in a red lip. 

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick

This is one of the newer additions to my collection. I would say that the colour is a dark berry red, the colour is really pigmented and lasts a fair while, I would say you only need to touch this up once of twice through out the day.  

Rimmel Apocalips 

As soon as these came out I was desperate to get my little paws on them, and boy am I glad that I did. My mum has some of the colours and I got a couple. The ones I have are Stellar and Big Bang. I have a whole blog post on these since I loved them so much, so if you are interested you can go check that out if you like. Stellar is such a beautiful colour, its very much so a pink colour but I think it has red in it to- as my mum was convinced that it was a red shade. Big Bang is an amazing bright red colour. They last a long time since they are like a gloss and stain hybrid. They are very creamy and they are surprisingly moisturising. 

Barry M Lip Paints

I have 3 lipsticks by Barry M, the first of which I've had for a couple of years - maybe not as long but I've had it for awhile. I used to use this religiously, every day for months. I've only got a little bit left of it, I don't know what the shade is since the name has rubbed off, but its the green on that turns pink. I loved using this since it would get darker throughout the day - it also takes a heck of a lot to take it off (I think its like a stain).

Another I have was a complete fluke buy, I don't know if I like the colour or not. The colour is shade 53, it is a pinky coral colour and it is unlike any colour I have ever bought or worn. I think that may be half the reason I'm unsure of it, due to the fact that I more so wear reds. 

The final Barry M lipstick I have is in the shade 121, this is a bright red colour. I think the amount of red lipsticks I have is ridiculous. I this is quite a matte colour, and it is quite drying - which is sad since its such a lovely colour ( I have really dry lips normally so this really isn't good for my wee lips).

Benefit Lip gloss 

This is the only proper gloss that I own, I have dandelion. I wear it over matte red lipsticks, just a little in the middle of my lips to give just a bit of depth and shine. 

YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick

Another of my many eBay purchases, this is maybe one of my best purchases. I got it for a total bargain, I still class this as a high end purchase - I paid £12 for it so its kind of a joke - this is like my baby. The packaging is beautiful and the formula is so creamy and lovely.

MAC Lipstick

Yet again another eBay purchase, for a few pounds I got my hands on one of the limited edition Lady GaGa lipsticks. The one I have is in the shade Sheer Plum. This looks nothing like a plum colour when you just look at it, when you apply it though it looks slightly more plumy. I would say this is not a plum colour and more so a  pink with orange undertones. I've not used this in a fair while so I've not got much of a clue when it comes to its lasting, but it is a very creamy lipstick. 

ELF Matte Lip Pencil

I have not used this in a very long time, the colour is natural, it is a nude lip colour. I've become much more of a red and orange colour lipstick gal, so nude colours have been pushed aside and hidden away in the back of a box.

Everyday Make-up

When it comes it my everyday make-up I'm very minimalistic, I go for a natural look and try to put as few things on my face as possible.  I don't tend to use a make-up bag very often, but I have been trying to use one. My make-up bag is one I got off eBay, its originally from No7, it wasn't very expensive- no more than about £5.

It is looking a little dirty in places, but I think it does show that it is being loved and used if it shows a little bit of wear. I bought it because I really liked how it looked, its a lovely blue colour with scallop detailing. Since I'm beginning to use my make-up bag I thought I would show you my daily make-up. 

I think my bag is a really good size, I wouldn't take this out with me though since when I go out I don't tend to do anything with my face. Maybe touch up my lipstick, nothing much though. 

Face Products

Maybelline Super Stay 24Hr Foundation - I have rather oily skin and decided my old foundation ( Benefit Hello Flawless) wasn't working for me any more, it just seemed like my foundation wasn't staying on my face. So I bought this one since it claims to last a very long time, it does say suitable for all skin types, but I found it was really good for my skin. I would highly recommend this to any one with oily skin, the colour range is extremely good, I have 005 light Beige and it is practically identical to my skin tone. 

Rimmel Stay Matte Power - I use this to control my oily skin, this is the best powder I have tried. Granted I haven't actually tried many powders. But of the few I have tried this is the best one. For me anyway. Its highly affordable, I bought the transparent one since I'm too lazy to find my own shade. 

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - I bought this purely down to the fact that everyone and their grandmother talks about this in the blogging world. I think I maybe bought a shade to dark, even though the one I bought is 2, which is still classed as light. I am able to work with it, but I will be getting the lighter one. Its a good concealer, there are probably better ones, but this is cheap and does the job.

Sleek Contour Palette - This is an amazing little palette, three products in one. I think for the price ( around £6/7) this is utterly and totally the best thing ever. Its a contour, highlight and blush all in the one palette. The colours are brilliant for my complexion and I am so glad I bought it. 

Eye Products 

Maybelline Gel Liner - I bought this on impulse one day, didn't need it and to be honest at the time I didn't overly want it. I'm glad now I bought it. Its not the best gel liner, I will admit. I tried my friends L'Oreal gel liner and that was amazing - I really want to pick it up. I've found that this gets a little dry and hard the longer you have it, which is a little disappointing, but its the best liner I've found to do flicks and stuff so I keep it around. 

Smashbox Photo finish Lid Primer - I bought this little sample size(really should read the descriptions of things) off eBay a little while ago. I like using this before I apply eye shadow, I find it does help eye shadow last that little bit longer. 

Maybelline 24 Hr Colour Tattoo - I Love the colour tattoos, the pigmentation is amazing and they last ages and ages. I have a couple of these but I use On and on Bronze most days, its a really nice bronze colour, I think it looks like it has silvery/ gold parts in it sometimes. 

Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp - I've recently switched back to using this bad boy, after a long period of using Maybellines Rocket. I had forgotten how good this is. It gives you big, thick, long lashes. I adore this, it gives me the lashes I've always wanted. 

Rimmel Scandaleyes Kajal - I like this little nude pencil for my lower lash line. I don't know why I use it or what made me start using it, probably YouTube. It stays for a very very long time and I've never found myself needing to re-apply this. 

Lip Products

Maybelline Colour Sensation Lipstick - I got this off eBay for a few pounds awhile back. The colour is a dusty pink, I didn't have a colour like it so decided like any other rational person that I must have it. The colour is 540 Hollywood Red, despite the name I would say this is not a red lipstick. I think its a very grown up colour and is quite sophisticated. 

Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter - I am a huge fan of lip butters, this is probably one of my favourites. The colour I have been wearing a heck of a lot is 035 Candy Apple. Its a lovely red, I think you could make quite a sheer red with this or a really bright one, depending on how heavily/ how much you apply. This is probably one of my favourite lipsticks. 

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - If I'm ever wanting something quick to put on I always reach for this, I never need to blot it or tidy up around my lips, I don't think I have ever gone over the line with this. This is the only shade of this that I have, the one I have is 045 Romantic. Its a lovely red, nothing to bright like some reds can be and it is very moisturising on your lips. 

Benefit Dandelion Lip Gloss - This is the only lip gloss I own, I use this only occasionally. If I want a glossy lip - which I 9/10 don't, I much prefer matte lips - then I will put this over the top of what ever I am wearing on my lips. The colour is quite light so you could probably wear it over any lip colour. 

Jason Lips Bee Healthier balm - I use this every day, several times a day. I hate having sore cracked lips and this is just the thing I need to prevent that from happening. I got this in a glossybox last year and have only recently been using it. It smells lovely - like a after eight - and really nourishes the lips. 

Brushes

Real Techniques Buffing Brush - I use this 99% of the time to put on my foundation, the other 1% of the time is when I'm to lazy to use a brush so use my fingers. I really like the real techniques brushes, they are really soft and give such a lovely finish. 

Real Techniques Contour Brush - I use this with my sleek palette, its probably not the best idea to use the one brush with 3 different things, but awk well. I just find that it does the best job of putting my blush and stuff on. 

Maybelline Gel Liner Brush - This little brush came with the gel liner it does the job and does it well so I've stuck with it. Until I find a brush that is miles better then I shall continue to stay with this brush. 

Eye Lips Face Total Face Brush - I use this with the Rimmel Powder, it doesn't give off any bristles and is relatively soft. Its an okay brush for powder.
