Clarins Lotus Facial Oil | Review

Until a month or two ago I had never heard of this product, and the thought of a oil for my face really worried me. Oil for oily skin, you'd have to be mad... Right? Wrong! Oily skin absolutely loves oil, and after using the DHC Cleansing Oil I knew I wanted to try more. So in saunters the Clarins Lotus Facial oil, I say saunters as I imagine this product would have some swag, haha!
I spoiled myself a little on my birthday and bought this for myself, this really was a treat as its £32... Quite a pricey little item, but boy oh boy is it worth it.
When I first started using  this I noticed how soft my skin felt the next morning, like seriously, my face felt like a babies bum! So soft. The oil does take a wee while to absorb into the skin, but it's like giving your skin a bit of a pampering.
Just pop 3-4 drops of this luxe oil into your hands and pat it on your face, I know think this is the best part of my routine... The scent isn't anything overpowering, just a nice herbal scent - I can't even begin to describe how it smells, I'm useless... Its very spa like.
After patting it into my skin, I do tend to let it sink in for a few minutes before applying the rest of my routine.
I've been using this for a few weeks now, and I definitely think my skin is so much less oily now. My skin can now easily last, after using this, well into the evening before getting stupidly oily.
This is definitely worth the money you pay for it, so if your looking for a way to control the shine - give this a go, you wont be disappointed!

Maybelline BB Cream

If I'm being honest, I didn't expect much from this when I first got it. I had tried other BB creams before and they were just to dark. For what ever reason some companies decide to bring out one colour of BB cream. One colour fits all. I've wanted to love BB creams but the offerings were kind of crappy.
That was until I tried this. When this came out, it instantly caught my eye. For oily skin it said. I found myself instantly needing to buy it. And I did.  The colour range isn't great, but at least they have a couple of options for you to choose from. The one I have is light, and its a pretty good match for my skin. Maybe a teeny tiny bit to dark but what ever, its hardly different enough for you to notice it.
This has basically become my day to day foundation. Yes it is a BB cream, but I think that its got the coverage of a really good foundation. It has an SPF of 15, so your getting a little sun protection in there to.
The packaging is cute, young and fresh? Does that even make sense? I don't know, but it does look fresh - if you get what I mean.
I do love this and would recommend this to anyone, even if you have dry skin this could possibly work for you!
What is your favourite BB cream?

Rimmel | Stay Matte Pressed Powder

For a fair few years I have used Rimmel Clear Complexion pressed powder, recently I have been having a really hard time with my oily skin and this powder wasn't helping me. I was in the market for a new one, since the one I was using was all broken and fiddly to use.
I had decided while shopping to buy the Stay Matte powder as it would be perfect for my oilier than a chip
pan skin. I picked it up in the shade 001 Transparent, since I'm lazy and couldn't be bothered trying to find my shade( it was also the same shade as the Clear Complexion one). Its described a "a long lasting pressed powder", I do think it keeps my skin looking shine free for a fair few hours. I'd say about 6-8 hours after putting this on my skin begins to get shiney and oily and just plain bad. It does say "Up to 5 hours natural shine control" so I'm not annoyed by how long I get, in fact I'm quite impressed.
Because of my skin my make-up never stays very long, I think this powder helps my make-up stay on my skin so much longer. I used a big fluffy brush to apply this after my foundation and concealer. I think finishing my face off with this has probably helped set it.
For £3.99 this is a total bargain, you couldn't ask for a better product for this price. This is a total god send product, anyone with oily skin should head out and buy this wee beauty.

Nip+Fab Oily Skin Fix Review

I've been looking for something to help my skin, as it is extremely oily, and for awhile I thought I was never going to find something that was affordable. Finally I found something that does the job, Nip+Fab are now my new best friends.
The Oily Skin Fix set is heavenly, if my skin wasn't quite so oily I'm pretty sure this would have been the single best thing to ever happen to me.
The kit contains 3 things; a facial cleansing wash, a moisturiser and a spot gel.
Clean Fix Gel is described as "a deep cleansing and purifying foaming formula for super clean skin." This makes my skin feel really clean, I've used lots of facial washes before and most make my skin feel very tight or don't give a good enough clean - so my skin ends up pretty drap and quite a wee bit unhealthy (by unhealthy I mean oily, blackheads and spots). Since using this my skin hasn't been nearly as spotty and my skin goes longer without becoming oiler than a frying pan.
To help with this the Shine Fix helps keep my oily skin at bay. I even apply this later in the day over my make-up if my face is getting overly oily. Nip+Fab say this =has "microsponges" in it that "target and prevent shine". This is also meant to be a black head buster, but I can't say I've noticed my blackheads disappearing. For an affordable moisturiser it works wonders, and I was overly impressed with it. Since I hadn't yet found an affordable/ drug store this was a little god send. I would say that since it is a tiny tube I will still be on the hunt for something bigger, maybe even on the pricier side, but in the mean time I will definitely re-purchase Shine Fix.
The final part of the kit is the Spot Fix, I haven't yet tried this out since I'm in love with my Freede

rm spot gel. But if the rest of the kit is anything to go by then this spot gel will be amazing. It contains salicylic acid which is brilliant for tackling spots. And I think I will be switching from Freederm to this as, Freederm, as far as I am aware, does not contain salicylic acid.

Nip+Fab were certainly right when they say this is a 'cult classic' I will certainly be picking another one of these sets up, at £15.95 full price or £7.50 from ASOS. I highly recommend this set to anyone that has oily skin.

Garnier Moisture Match Shine Be Gone Mattifying Cream

I saw this awhile back and thought, this sounds like a nice wee idea, so naturally I picked one up. I bought the one named 'Shine Be Gone' for oily skin.

I got this for £3.99, this was an introductory price and is normally £5.99.
This moisturiser claims to be "Perfect for combination to oily skin" and is "enriched with Green Tea extract". It also claims to keep skin shine free all day, I cant say that my skin is shine free all day, I would say I'm shine free for around 6 hours.
For the price I wasn't expecting a miracle. I think this works just as well as the moisturiser I use from Morrison's which costs around £2. The only plus side to the Garnier moisturiser is the amazing smell, it just smells so fresh and sweet, lovely when you put it on in the morning. It may just not have been right for my skin since my skin is overly oily, if you have slightly oily skin this may be appropriate for you.
For the price its not a bad moisturiser but I'm in the market for something to battle my seriously oily skin.
