Possibly The Best Eye Liner Ever? Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

For the longest time my absolute favourite eye liner has been the Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner and I hadn't found anything I liked more, until a few months ago when I started using the little sample of the wonderful Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, I honestly never thought I'd love a pen style liner, but I adore this so bloody much! Getting a really good solid black line is so easy, the lines are straight and easy to control. 

The nib on this is super fine, and surprisingly sturdy. You can honestly get as thick or as thin as a line as you need, and you can get such a good flick with it, it is just the most perfect nib. 

The line you can create from the Kat Von D liner is super pigmented and so so dark, I don't think I've ever used such a black liner. Its so opaque, and honestly its kind of unreal - who knew such lines were even possible?  Once its set, it won't budge at all. But its easy to take off with cleanser, so its not impossible to get off, no worries lads and laddettes. 
Its definitely the best the best liner I've used in ages, and I'll be buying myself the full sized version very soon - possibly while I'm down in London soon! 

Faceless by Alyssa B. Sheinmel | Book Review

I've not read a book for a very long time - I find it very hard to get into a book well enough to want to read the whole thing. But I've absolutely loved reading Faceless by Alyssa B. Sheinmel - the book is amazing! 
I took it on holiday with me and read it on the plane to and from Rome. We only travelled for around 6 hours in total - so it shows how much I liked it, I barely put the book down. 
Without giving much away, the book is based around a 16 year old girl called Maisie who is badly burned in an electrical fire which destroys her face and damages the left side of her body. It shows her as she adjusts to her new life and her new face. It doesn't sound like the best book but I honestly loved it! Its available on Amazon for £3.85, great value for a great book.

Best Foundation Ever? | L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation Review

I've scheduled so many posts recently meaning I've not actually written a post in ages! Scheduled posts are in short supply now though and my love for this foundation is going strong! 
The foundation is in a plastic squeeze-y tube, different and I find better than the standard glass bottles that are usually used. The packaging is plain and simple, I don't think you could buy a foundation because of packaging - it's jut one of those things that always seems to have really plain bottles/tubes... 
It says it gives a medium coverage and I really think it does, you could easily build it up as well to get a much fuller coverage but I've been finding recently with this I'm not wanting nor needing a full coverage. The coverage it gives me is just perfect for me! 
Despite it being a matte finish, I don't find the finish to be overly flat like some mattes can be. I'm not sure if its how oily my skin is or if it is a slightly dewy finish but I'm really loving this foundation's finish. 
In fact I love everything about this foundation, from the coverage to the finish to how long it lasts. A lot of the time I tend to find that my foundations slip off my face, but not with this! It lasts a really good while, who knows if it lasts the 24 hours it says it does, cause really - who wears their foundation for that long?! I could put this on in the morning though, and still have it looking fairly good by well after dinner time.
When I use this I feel the need to use concealer is dramatically reduced, tending to only really wanting to use concealer every so often on my under eyes when I've had very little sleep.
For £7.99 I don't really think you can go wrong, and if your wanting it be be even more perfect why not try their new matte primer along with it? 

Benefit Gimme Brow Review

I gave into the hype. Like I seriously fell for this product as soon as I saw it, I read so many posts on this and absolutely loved the look it gave. So naturally, the first time I saw it in Boots I had to have it. The make-up artist at the Benefit counter was really lovely and really helpful, she kindly applied Gimme Brow, as soon as I saw how easily and quickly it went on and how beautiful it looked on I knew that I'd be taking it home with me.

I've got the darker of the two colours, medium/deep, it genuinely looks so good on. It looks really natural, makes your brows look crazy thick and just all out amazing. I've tried pencils and powders and I never seemed to like the way it looked on. I'm a girl of convenience and for me spending ages on one part of your face, just isn't worth it for me. Gimme Brow is perfect for me. Its so quick to apply and I don't really think its possible to make a huge mistake with it.
From what I've gathered, from both the Benefit girl at the counter and from what was said on QVC, Gimme Brow is a fibre gel that not only grabs your brow hair but it also adheres to the skin, creating the look of naturally full brows. From what I understood, the fibre gel is also used in a lot of mascaras to grab smaller lashes, also I believe that this is the only brow product on the market with fibre gel.

The gel grabs even the smallest of hairs, hairs that you may not even have noticed you have! For me this is crazy good on the front of my brows that are rather sparse, it gives the appearance of them being really quite thick and dark. Hello power brow.

I don't think my brows have ever looked so good. 

You could easily apply this on the go, and I think this will be finding its way to university with me on days where I've not had enough time to apply it at home. Its completely waterproof, so no need to worry about it smudging across your face - great for me on days when I'm running late and sprinting to the train station. When the gel is applied you don't even notice that its there, unlike some brow gels that can feel a bit hard.
The tube seems a little small for £17.50 but I'm hoping it lasts quite awhile. The packaging isn't anything special, unlike the majority of Benefits products. Its a pretty basic little tube with small polka dots on it, simple and fairly cute, I think more effort was put into the box it came in packaging wise.
I have to say I really love this, I've not had it for overly long but I have to say its become a firm favourite. Gimme Brow, gimme gimme.

Hello Naked Palette

I'd like to welcome to the family, the Urban Decay Naked Palette. For the longest time I've wanted to own a palette from Urban Decay but just couldn't bring myself to part with almost £40, but I had vouchers so it made it easier to part with my cash. This isn't going to be like a full in depth review of the palette - since I've only tried a few of the colours, but I can give my thoughts on it so far.
I've yet to have a good play around with this to see what colours I like best and what looks I can make with this, but today I made a simple (would have been better if I had more brushes) look using Virgin, Naked and Hustle - are these colours even mean to go together? Who knows. But I really liked the look of it, simple and easy enough to do - quick as well, so potentially a every day look?

The packaging, oh my. The velvet feeling packaging is so classy, very elegant - if you have the Naked palette go grab it now and feel it. I love the packaging - the only downside to it is I don't think the magnet that keeps it shut will last forever. I'm not to bothered about that though, it will probably just live its life out in a drawer so it really wont matter very much if the lid doesn't close very securely.

The colours in this palette, now that I look at it with my reviewing hat on, are sort of similar to the Stila In The Light colours. A few of the colours are very similar, but for the most part most are different. I really love the look of Toasted, Hustle, Half Baked and Smog - they all look incredibly pretty and I really want to find a way to wear them all at the same time - is it possible?
The brush that comes with the palette, I'm not quite sure about. I can't decide if I like it or not - is it bad for eye shadow or does it do the job nicely. Now that's something I just can't decide. I think I'm going to have to make a little order for some Crown Brushes.
The colours are really pretty though, crazy easy to blend and feel silky soft - I now understand why people use the word "buttery" in describing these shadows. They are a total dream, and I think I'm now going to save up some Debenhams points so I can get Naked 2. Do I need to get Naked 2? No, probably not. But I really really really want it. You do though need to try these eye shadows, you will be completely smitten with them.

Phillips Epilator | Review

I wasn't 100% what to call this post. I didn't want to call it a review since its my first ever epilator, but nothing else seemed right. My mum got me this as part of my Christmas, and a few people commented on my post asking me to do a post on how I got on with it. I was a bit worried about the pain before I first used it so this post may help calm peoples minds about getting one.
The one I have is the Philips Satinelle, and you can buy it from here for £34.99 (its currently marked down usually its £69.99). It comes with the epilator, the power adapter for it, extra shaving head, trimming comb, little brush to clean and a travel pouch. The extra shaving head is designed for the more intimate areas of the body, like the underarms and bikini line.
For the sake of this review I'm going to use this again on my legs, and on my underarms and bikini line. I was only planning on using this for use on my legs - but to b able to give a full review I'll do all areas. yay
Essentially, the epliator tweezes the hair out your legs. That sounds unbelievably painful - tweezing your hairs out your legs, but trust me when I say its not that sore.

I thought I'd include this picture of the back of the box, as it gives a bit of info on the epilator and how it works. Each image (1-4) have a little bit of corresponding information with it: 1. Gentle tweezing discs. Removes hairs without pulling the skin; 2. 20 tweezers remove hair as short as 0.5mm from the root; 3. Washable epilation head for extra hygiene and easy cleaning; 4. Shaving head with comb. Follows the contours of your bikini line/ underarms for a closer shave. Use the comb to cut longer hairs before epilation or to trim your bikini area.

 The epilator itself is the prefect size for your hand, it doesn't feel bulky and it is incredibly light. The only downside to it is that it isn't waterproof and needs to be plugged in in order for you to use it.

 The cable though is very long. So you don't need to worry about not having a long enough cord. 

This is the head you would use for use on the legs, its basically got lots of little metal discs in it that spin, and as they spin they act like a pair of tweezers grabbing at the hair and pulling it out. I found the best way - and least painful - to use this was just after a bath. As your legs dry though it does get more painful - but I would say its not any more painful than getting your eye brows waxed. So keep your bath filled and use the epilator basically as soon as you step out the tub - or if you don't have a bath, make sure you've been in a shower for a good five or so minutes before you use it. Dry skin is a bit more painful than wet skin.
The epilator has 2 speed settings as well - set it to the highest speed. The quicker it goes the less you notice the tweezering. I first used this on my legs on Christmas day, it is now the 8th of January - and I have just the tiniest bit of re-growth. But I'll be taking care of this tonight in my bath.
Epilating your legs is so much better than just simply shaving - for one you don't need to do it every other day and it won't cut you.
The first time I used it, I did notice my skin was a bit bumpy afterwards - but that went away pretty quickly, within a few hours it was gone.
Underarm wise - I wouldn't recommend using it. Neither the trimming head nor the tweezing head work very well on the arm pits. I just find that it doesn't grab the hairs so you would be there for quite awhile trying to get the hairs to get plucked out.
Bikini line wise the little shaver is really really good. I feel a little weird talking about this - but y'know we're all grownups. The tweezing head for this hurts like a mother, but you'd probably only use it on your thighs - if you've ever had a bikini wax then it basically hurts as much - if not more - than that.
I really love my epilator though, it keeps leg hair away for such a long time - gotta love that.

I hope this post was somewhat helpful. I love my epilator and couldn't recommend it higher.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara Review

Awhile back, I was browsing ASOS (what else is a girl meant to do when bored?) and noticed that Rimmel items were discounted. It was then I decided to add the Retro Glam mascara to my basket and buy it - without doing any research on it (something I usually do). When it came I just put it aside as my absolute favourite mascara - YVES Rocher Sexy Pulp - hadn't ran out yet. It was when a uni friend said that she had heard bad things about it that I put it even further into my collection. I've never done a negative review before because I generally tend to do a lot of Googleing on a product before finally picking it up - that is probably where I went wrong with this. But I suppose there are going to be a few bag eggs here and there - it helps you find the superb eggs.

Recently my Sexy Pulp started to run out - and since the Glam eyes one had a similar brush I decided to start trying it out. The first thing I noticed was it was very wet, other bloggers said it maybe just needed to dry out and then I might like it. After it started to dry out, I noticed it started to clump - for me any mascara that is really bad with clumps is a huge no no. I could at first forget the clumps - it gave a really good voluminous finish - all be it my lashes looked fake because of how dark they looked. It was when I noticed how much the mascara flaked that I decided I just couldn't use it any more. I had only used it for about 2 weeks and it got really really dry so so quickly - I can imagine you would need to repurchase this really often.   

I'm sorry if this post seems a little bit ranty or rambly ( its 1:20 am and I'm buzzing off energy drink after work). My next review will hopefully be a positive one.

Tangle Teezer

I have always had extremely tuggy hair, and have always had to rip a brush through it. I decided enough is enough and bought myself the miracle that is a Tangle Teezer. I use it to brush my hair after I come out the shower, since that is usually when I find it worse, this makes it so much easier to brush through and it doesn't hurt (at least not nearly as much). I would say the only down side, if I can even call it a downside, is that the bristles don't quite catch deep enough in the top of my hair - this isn't a huge deal for me though since the most tuggy part of my hair is towards the bottom.

For around £10 this is a complete bargain and worth every penny you pay.

Nip+Fab Oily Skin Fix Review

I've been looking for something to help my skin, as it is extremely oily, and for awhile I thought I was never going to find something that was affordable. Finally I found something that does the job, Nip+Fab are now my new best friends.

The Oily Skin Fix set is heavenly, if my skin wasn't quite so oily I'm pretty sure this would have been the single best thing to ever happen to me.
The kit contains 3 things; a facial cleansing wash, a moisturiser and a spot gel.
Clean Fix Gel is described as "a deep cleansing and purifying foaming formula for super clean skin." This makes my skin feel really clean, I've used lots of facial washes before and most make my skin feel very tight or don't give a good enough clean - so my skin ends up pretty drap and quite a wee bit unhealthy (by unhealthy I mean oily, blackheads and spots). Since using this my skin hasn't been nearly as spotty and my skin goes longer without becoming oiler than a frying pan.

To help with this the Shine Fix helps keep my oily skin at bay. I even apply this later in the day over my make-up if my face is getting overly oily. Nip+Fab say this =has "microsponges" in it that "target and prevent shine". This is also meant to be a black head buster, but I can't say I've noticed my blackheads disappearing. For an affordable moisturiser it works wonders, and I was overly impressed with it. Since I hadn't yet found an affordable/ drug store this was a little god send. I would say that since it is a tiny tube I will still be on the hunt for something bigger, maybe even on the pricier side, but in the mean time I will definitely re-purchase Shine Fix.

The final part of the kit is the Spot Fix, I haven't yet tried this out since I'm in love with my Freede

rm spot gel. But if the rest of the kit is anything to go by then this spot gel will be amazing. It contains salicylic acid which is brilliant for tackling spots. And I think I will be switching from Freederm to this as, Freederm, as far as I am aware, does not contain salicylic acid. 

  Nip+Fab were certainly right when they say this is a 'cult classic' I will certainly be picking another one of these sets up, at £15.95 full price or £7.50 from ASOS. I highly recommend this set to anyone that has oily skin.

No7 Beautiful Skin Cleaning Brush

I've been wanting to get a Clarisonic for awhile, but couldn't justify the £100+ price tag that came with it. Over a hundred pounds to wash my face?! WHAT THE HECK? Not going to lie, if I had the money for it I would go and buy myself one. But alas I don't have that kind of moolah. There is now, however, an alternative to the Clarisonic! 

The lovely people from No7 have brought out their very own version and I am so super duper happy. This cleansing brush is amazing. It gives such a deep clean and after using it I feel that my skin is as soft as a babies bum. And who doesn't want to have a face that feels as soft as a baby? 

 This little battery powered cleaner has two different speed settings, to give an even deeper clean. You can use this with any facial wash. However, some face washes work better with this than others. Washes that foam up more than others I feel are the best ones to use, or at least that is how I feel.

 The brushes are cheap to replace as they only cost £8 for 2 brushes. You are supposed to change the brush every 3-4 months, I've had mine for a little while but I've not used it very often so may not change it as soon as 4 months.

The only downside to this, I would say, is that it isn't waterproof. I have to be really careful with this when I use it since I can't just shove it in the water. This does make cleaning the brush after ward a little tricky.
I wouldn't say that it is a HUGE downfall to the product. And since the price is so good can we really complain? The cleansing brush is £24. 95 to buy from boots, and this is just a fraction of the price of the Clarisonic. If your wanting the Clarisonic, I would suggest you give the No7 one a go first.

Garnier Moisture Match Shine Be Gone Mattifying Cream

I saw this awhile back and thought, this sounds like a nice wee idea, so naturally I picked one up. I bought the one named 'Shine Be Gone' for oily skin.

I got this for £3.99, this was an introductory price and is normally £5.99.
This moisturiser claims to be "Perfect for combination to oily skin" and is "enriched with Green Tea extract". It also claims to keep skin shine free all day, I cant say that my skin is shine free all day, I would say I'm shine free for around 6 hours.
For the price I wasn't expecting a miracle. I think this works just as well as the moisturiser I use from Morrison's which costs around £2. The only plus side to the Garnier moisturiser is the amazing smell, it just smells so fresh and sweet, lovely when you put it on in the morning. It may just not have been right for my skin since my skin is overly oily, if you have slightly oily skin this may be appropriate for you.
For the price its not a bad moisturiser but I'm in the market for something to battle my seriously oily skin.

Rimmel Apocalips Review

Upon a wander around Boots I decided to take a look at Rimmels products and all the new and wonderful products they had brought out. It was then that I found the brilliance that is the Apocalips Lip Lacquers. These are a god send, their colour is amazing and they last for hours.
I only got 3 from the collection - of which there is 8 colours. The colour range is pretty amazing, some colours I wouldn't wear, as  I'm not a huge fan of nudes, but my mum and I were in awe of almost (if not all) of the colours. The ones I chose were Stella and Big Bang and to take full advantage of the 3 for 2 my mum got the shade Galaxy.

The product feels luxurious and creamy on the lips, its not sticky which is a major plus for me as I'd rather not have my lips being stuck together.  They also feel really moisturising, so I didn't feel the need to constantly have my lips covered in lip balm.

The finish of these isn't overly glossy, its actually more on the matte side, I also get the impression that these are more of a stain than a gloss ( but they are kind of a mix of both gloss and stain).

The wand is pretty impressive, I say this as a total gloss/stain virgin. In the past when I've looked at or tried lip glosses I've found the wands quite annoying - as I found they were a horrible shape, didn't have enough gloss attached to it or had waaaay to much, not with this though I feel it is the perfect shape and holds the perfect amount of gloss on the wand ( due to the little package of colour held in the wand).

Over all I have to say I am completely sold on these, and I will probably be going out to buy more of the collection - maybe even the entire collection. They aren't overly pricey, maybe even on the cheaper side for what your getting, £5.99 is a total bargain for these.  I hope as time goes on they bring out more shades, it would be the cherry on top to have lots and lots of shades to choose from and to marvel over.

Nivea lip butter review

I had been dying to get my hands on these little tins since I first saw them. One day I finally decided to buy them, and am I glad I did. The Nivea lip butters are truly amazing. They come in different scents, Raspberry Rose, Caramel, Vanilla and the plain original one. I bought the Raspberry and the caramel ones, and boy oh boy do they smell heavenly.
Not only do they smell amazing, they make you lips feel pampered and super soft. I have very dry lips, so I'm in a constant battle to keep them soft and to try keep the flakeyness at bay. This has helped so much!

I use these constantly, I have one by my bed and one always by my side when I go out. 

Out of all the lip balms I have ever bought, so far these are my favourite. They tick all the boxes for me, they smell nice, they actually help my lips, last for a long time (unlike all the chapsticks I have used) and they are affordable.
