OOTD | American Apparel Jeans

I was in dire need of a new pair of jeans - when I say dire I mean my black jeans had like 8 holes in them... It was pretty bad! I decided against getting another pair of Topshop jeans because I seem to need to replace them like every 3/4 months, this time I went for a lovely pair of American Apparel Easy Jeans.
I decided on pairing them with this lace and floral crop top from Urban Outfitters and my white converse. Seemed a bit spring-y, probably due to it being really sunny outside. Despite the sun though it was pretty darn cold outside - so on goes my well loved GCU Jets hoodie, I'm part of my universities cheer squad and this hoodie is the comfiest thing I own.

Date Night make-up and outfit

Date night this week was so lovely, we went for dinner in Yo! Sushi and then after wandering around the shops for a wee while, went to see the new Hobbit movie - its such a good movie! 

 Make-up wise I kept things kind of simple, to start of I used a few sprays of the Urban Decay De-Slick Spray and primed my skin with my Smashbox primer, Maybelline Dream Satin foundation and Maybelline fit me concealer to cover some redness and blemishes. Also on the face was the Bourjois bronzer and highlighter. The brows are my usual go to products, Brow Wiz and Gimmie brow - just the perfect combo. My eyes were a bit more snazzy than I usually do, but I quite like it. They look pretty, it was simple to do and boy did the shadow last forever. I used the Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze on my lids and L'Oreal Carbon Black and Tatre Lights Camera Splashes on the lashes. I used my new Maybelline Velvet Pencil in Keep it Classy, my abs fave colour at the moment. 

I kept my outfit really casual, it was too cold outside to do much else. Of course I wore my red Urban Outfitters cardigan, I paired it with black Topshop Joni jeans and my ASOS blue stappy top along with my shine-y new white converse. 
I had such a nice night out, and the hobbit was such a good movie to see in the cinema. Gotta love a good date night. 

OOTD | Red Jumpers and Black Vans

I'm getting into the swing of things with outfit posts, I've kind of stepped up my game when it comes to what I wear. I'm tending to not wear jeans as often, the skirts I own were being a little neglected. 

Anyhoo, today it wasn't overly hot but it was a dry day so I thought I'd wear a skirt (and tights y'know it is still a little bit cold). I'm not really sure how to describe this outfit, maybe girly grunge...? Emmmm, who knows. Anyway, my top is from Asos, I got it in the sale for about £8 or there abouts - my brother laughed at me cause Obey is a skater brand or something. I'm digressing... It has quite low arm holes, so I tend to always wear a jumper with it. The jumper I'm wearing - my absolute favourite jumper fyi, its like my safety blanket - is from Urban Outfitters, I got it years ago for Christmas, I think it was from their renewal range. Its seen better days though as it now has a few holes in it but I've never loved a jumper more and I can't bring myself to throw it out! The skirt is also from Urban Outfitters, I got it in the Christmas sales, I think it was around £18. I've got this skirt in a different colour but that one doesn't fit the same, its a really nice fit this one though. It zips all the way up and has an elastic bit on the back of it, just to give a bit extra room in it. My shoes are Vans, they are the suede ones, and I again got these in the sales. The watch I have is a Casio one, I got it for my birthday and I really love it. 
I thought I would quickly mention what my lip colour is, its new and I love it. It's one of the new Melted lipsticks from Too Faced, this is the shade Rudy (I think) and its quite a pink toned red.

OOTD | Comfy Casual

I'm a creature of habit, and I think the majority of my days are spent wearing outfits like this. Comfy jeans, big jumper to keep my stupidly cold body warm and a plain white tee. To jazz it up a little I added my casio watch - I'm so out there fashion wise. Go me eh? But anyway, my jeans are from Topshop and so is my top, my watch was a gift and the jumper is from Urban Outfitters - it is literally my favourite item of clothing I own.

Not another sales haul | Urban Outfitters, FeelUnique.com

So I shopped the sales - again. This was all basically online things - so I did have to wait for this stuff to arrive. 
A couple of weeks ago I went to Urban Outfitters and the skirt I really wanted they didn't have in my size - so of course I had to go online and buy it there. But y'know it seems a waste to only buy one thing, so like any sane and reasonable person I picked up a few things. 

The skirt I got is this beautiful blue and green tartan print with flowers on it as well - I really love the zip detail on these skirts - I think I now have 3 or 4 skirts like this one. I just need to find some tops to wear with them. This skirt is in a small - gotta love UO sizing - and was £18 down from £35(I think).

I love Urban Outfitters jewellery, but it is rather expensive full priced - so what better time to get some than during a sale? This pack of 3 earrings was originally £10, but was reduced to about £4. They are quite cute, and simple. I don't wear earrings nearly enough so having these nice ones might encourage me to wear them more. The pack has silver v's, gold triangles and rose gold squares. 

I also got this ring from the site. I bought this ring thinking it was a midi ring - which I'm pretty sure the pictures on the website showed it as being, and got it in a S/M since I do have small fingers. It was around £3 in the sale so I thought the price was pretty good. When it arrived though it was huuuuge - they had sent me out a M/L! I'm hoping to get this exchanged for a smaller size - if not then I'll just get a refund. I unfortunately don't think I'll get a smaller one as their site is all sold out. 

When my new storage unit comes - this little guy is taking prime place on top of it. How cute is this owl tea light holder?! I spotted it months ago - but didn't fancy the £18 price tag that came with it. So when I saw it in the sale section of the website it took me all of about 2 seconds to add it to my basket. I believe he cost me £7-8 - still a little high - but it injects a little colour to my plain black and white room. I thought it would be a lot small than it actually is - its rather large.... 

Next up, Feel Unique. I went through their website quite a few times before finally finding a few things that I'd really love to try.

I didn't order much from Feel Unique since there wasn't really much that caught my eye - but two things did. The less exciting of the two being the Badger Sleep Balm - I really really struggle to fall asleep at night and I've wanted to try sleeping aids for awhile. So when I saw this I decided to give it a go - I had wanted to try things by This Works, but this was slightly cheaper so seemed the better starting point. It cost me £5.59 - in hindsight not a huge deal cheaper than the This Works set I could have got from Space NK - and there is just over 50g of product. It is a really thick balm, than melts slightly when you rub it. It smells quite nice, and does actually make me feel a bit tired for a few seconds after sniffing. They say "The soothing scent of Lavender and Bergamont will help you relax before sleep", they also suggest rubbing a thin layer under your nose, on the lips, on temples and any other pulse points. I'll let you know how I get on with this and if it does indeed help me fall asleep quicker. 

I finally caved in and bought myself the YSL Babydoll mascara - I think in a YouTube video a couple of weeks ago I said that I would never buy myself a high end mascara because of the price and the length of time they last. Well yeah, I lied.  This gift set, containing the mascara and their eye make-up remover cost less than the mascara on its own did. Being the logical person that I am - I decided that this was a massive bargain and therefore - after asking twitter about it, ofc - I must have it. It cost me a rather hefty £20.83 - next time I'll use my boots points I think. But I have been told it is worth every penny you pay and I can't wait to see how it works. 

Last up - not actually sale items but I felt I absolutely must include them. Its the L'Oreal #TXT styling sprays. I bought both ones that Morrisons stocked - I think there's another member of the #TXT family. I got the Volume Supersizing Spray and the Wave Creating Spray. Recently my hair has been a bit, bleugh and I've desperately wanted to do something to give a bit more life and va va voom. Hopefully these will help, I think the wave spray was about £1.80 and the volume one around £3.30.

Sales Haul | Urban Outfitters, Boots, Debenhams ect

So yesterday, the 30th, I went into town with my mum after I finished work. There are just some shops that Braehead doesn't have - like TK Maxx, John Lewis and of course Urban Outfitters. Urban Outfitters is possibly my favourite clothing store - and definitely my favourite more expensive clothing store.
Anyhoo, on to the haul. When I got into town I met up with my mum and brother, the first place we went to was TK Maxx - I didn't get anything from there but I did find a Korres moisturiser that I was really close to buying and a big ceramic owl storage pot. I had to hold myself back and really ask myself if I needed it - the answer was no to both. But all I can think about is that owl pot!!!
The first shop I actually bought something from was Debenhams, I had £5 on my debenhams beauty card so I used that on my purchase. The first thing I picked up was from Philosophy, I had seen their Christmas stuff every day in work, and was practically drooling over it. I decided when I saw their little area that I was for sure going to pick something up since it was 50% off all their Christmas items, the one I went for was the Peppermint Stick.

Basically all of Philosophy's items are like 3 in 1s. This one is a shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath. How good is that!! 3 in 1 baby. Not sure how my hair would react to this but I do definitely think this would make such an amazing body wash and bubble bath. Imagine if you had a cold and you went for a bath with this - it would make your cold disappear. For £7 down from £14 is a total steal.
The only other thing I got - which is possibly my favourite thing ever - was from bareMinerals. Its their Affair to Remember palette - I think this is a party type palette as its got a fair few shimmer colours. I do love this little palette and I'll probably cry when this gets scratched.

How pretty are those colours?! There are 4 matt(ish) colours and 4 shimmery colours. There's a white - with a slight shimmer and a tiny hint of pink, a pretty brown that looks like its a tiny bit metallic, a salmon pink colour, a shimmer dark purple, a matte lilac, a slightly shimmery grey/blue, metallic purple and a sort of greeny brown. This is such a beautiful palette, some of the colours are less wearable day to day than others but I think this will be a prefect palette for a special occasion or a night out.

Next up was Urban Outfitters. They always have an epic sale and I decided I absolutely had to have a look to see if I could find any little treasures. I made the fatal mistake though of checking their website first though - going to have to put a little online order to get the few things I couldn't get in store. First thing I saw was something I didn't have in mind when I went in, and it is this cropped green coloured jumper. Its super soft and really cosy. Everything you could ever want in a jumper. Although I say its cropped - as you can see its still reasonably long. It was £30 down from £45 and I got student discount on top of it. Gotta love the Urban Outfitters sale. The picture makes it look a lot more blue then it actually is - so sorry about that.

I also got myself a skirt. I say I, but what I mean is my mum kindly bought me it. Its a really dark green/ blue colour with white leaves and little flowers on it. The skirt also has a zip going right up the front of it which is a really cool detail - at least I think it is. It was £25 down from £38 - bargain. Theres another skirt I'm going to buy online later since I couldn't find it in the shop.

The final thing I bought from Urban Outfitters was this beautiful dress - I want to say its a smock dress? Its not something I would usually go for but when I tried it on I fell completely in love with it. And the jumper goes with it!! This was also £30 (£27 with discount) down from £55, that I think is such a good deal.
There is so much jewellery that I want from UO, but I think I'll just have to wait for that.
Next up - really the proper first place I went - was Boots. I had a wee look again before I started my shift, and I managed to pick up a couple of gems. I bought two different sets and paid a total of £14 ( £16 with out staff discount)

I wasn't planning on looking at the sale stuff, but at I walked past I noticed some Soap and Glory sets. So, y'know I just had to wander over and have a look. I decided I was going to buy the Eye Box kit, this is quite an impressive set - even if it was full price its amazing value. You get their Thick and Fast Mascara, 6 shadows, a little brush and one of their waterproof kohl eye liners. It is quite a bulky palette, which is maybe its only downfall but I don't mind as I'm going to be getting some new storage very soon. IM SO EXCITED!!!!

Next up was something that I had looked at online - Joules Fabulous Fingers & Toes set. I hadn't seen this in my store for a couple of weeks so I was really surprised when I saw it. The set contains: a foot scrub, soap, hand cream, a foot scrub rock and a foot cream. They also have a little set on mini nail files tied onto the box - I'll definately be putting them in my bag.
The last place I went to was John Lewis. This was a very nail orientated purchase, as both things I got, all £21 of it, was nail polish. The first thing I saw was this little set by Ciate - I saw this on their website both before and during the sales and decided if I could get it in the shop then I would definitely get it.

I managed to pick up the Ciate Red Velvet nail set for £7 - half price! £14 is still pretty amazing for a nail set like this. The red one was the obvious choice for me - I mostly wear reds on my nails - I just think it looks so sleek and classy. And fuzzy red nails just seems like the best thing ever.

My final purchase for this shopping trip was the Nails Inc My Nail Polish Diary. Oh Em Gee. I was under the impression that is was sold out basically everywhere, so when I saw it on one of the shelves ends in John Lewis I practically ran across the store to grab it. When I saw it I didn't even think about buy it - I just knew I was going to buy it. No question about it. I actually thought these would be miniatures, but no it contains 12 full sized nail polishes. I got this for £21 down from £45(I think) and considering these are £11 each that is such an amazing deal - even full priced.

So thats everything I bought on this shopping trip.

OOTD & FOTD - New Years Dinner

Every year, or almost every, I go to my Grans house for New Year. We eat lots of food, Steak Pie (the best and softest crust part), potatoes, carrots, apple pie with ice cream and left over Christmas cake. My Gran also brought out Jaffa Cakes when everyone was having coffee cause she knows how much I like them! My gran is to good to me. Any way - heres some pictures of what I wore!

My dress was from Urban Outfitters, I got it in the sale just recently. My jumper is also a sale purchase from UO, its so soft and cosy. I decided to put tights on since it was kind of cold and I think it looks slightly better with tights on. My shoes have a slight heel on them and are from Topshop. They have a sturdy sole, they are fairly comfortable but after a long time wearing them your feet can start to feel a bit sore. My little bracelet was a 18th birthday present and New Years was the first time I had worn it - the magnet that keeps it together has come off so I need to get glue and fix it. 

Make-up wise I didn't have much time to do much with my face before we had to leave. But anyhoo, my make-up is as follows: my foundation is benefits Hello Flawless, I applied my Soap and Glory One Heck Of A Blot powder, Lord and Berry Eyebrow pencil, L'Oreal's new Mascara Miss Manga and for the lips Maybelline's Moisture Renew in Dark Night Water-oops.

I'll just leave you with this picture of my mum, gran and me all with tea cosys on our heads - we were recreating a picture that was taken exactly like this 17 years ago.
