Small Boots Haul

I went and spent some Boots points the other day, so here is the results of my little spree. 
I really only went in with the idea of getting a pale coloured nail polish - preferably a grey one. I definitely didn't plan to get most of this. 

I noticed these new blushers from Collection that looked pretty cool so I decided to get one of them, if they are good then I'll be sure to get more. They claim to be mistake proof, and I suck so badly at blusher so we'll soon see if they live up to their claims. 

The only things I planned on getting were these nail polishes, the colours look so lovely on and I've decided the Rimmel Rita Ora one is my new favourite (its in the shade Rain Rain Go Away). Its just such a lovely pale grey purple shade. The Barry M one is in the shade Almond (I think...) 

Final two things now, both are contour kits - why I thought I needed two is beyond me. The first kit I saw was the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit and the other is the new Maybelline Mastersculpt kit in the shade light medium. Hopefully my pale skin doesn't look orange with these...

Boots Haul | Stila and L'Oreal

I feel like all I've done recently is buy things I know I don't need - oh well, makes for a blog post anyway... I went into Boots for one thing and naturally left with a few more things than intended. 

 These were completely unnecessarily bought - I basically saw then on an isle end saw the word new next to it and the beauty junkie in me went mad and told me to buy it. I don't regret buying them though, because I've used them a fair few times I can say for sure they are pretty good. The foundation is a fairly good coverage for daily wear - but a full review will come later.  

Recently my skin has been unbelievably uneven and red, so I've been on the hunt to try find products to counteract the redness or to cover it. Hence buying this, the Stila One Step. Its not the cheapest thing - I think it cost around £24, but if it does the job then it'll be worth it.

Small Boots Haul

I've not bought anything from Boots for awhile - I've been very restrained and even today I managed to hold myself back soooo much! 

I noticed a new face mask, I think the brand is Casmara... The one I picked up is the Purifying  Algae Peel Off face mask for mixed oily skin types. Looks pretty cool - so y'know I took one with me - it was £9.99 though so a little pricey... 

I also picked up another John Frieda Brilliant Brunette shampoo - I decided to get the massive bottle, only £8.99 so better value than the smaller bottles. 

Two of the new Aussie body washes - I'd seen these in work but held off getting them, until now. I got the Fresh Mate one and the No Rush one. They smell fairly similar, but both smell heavenly. They were two for £6, so a little steep but I really wanted  to try them... I'm a sucker for new things... 

I also got myself a Trevor Sorbie Colour Enhance Oil - £7, but I'll pay any thing (within reason) to keep my colour looking better for longer. 

The last couple of things I got were just deodorants and such like - so not much point in showing them. Hopefully I won't be spending much more anytime soon in Boots, cause I know I really don't need to spend anymore in there or buy anything else...

A Small Boots Haul

Being back at university means one thing, I spend a stupid amount of time in Boots. I've been into Boots 3 separate times in the last 2 days. Yes I went in twice in the same day...

So the story behind buying this, is basically because I couldn't be bothered going back to the salon and paying £20 or so to get a tidy up. In hind sight paying £9+ on this wasn't worth it. It took so long to use, I used so much of it and it hurt so so so much! I think I'll just stick to letting a beautician do it for me.

My DHC cleansing oil had almost run out when I decided to buy this. I think this was about £10, it looks pretty good and there is lots there. Here's hoping my skin doesn't freak out when I use it!

 Complete impulse buy, but at a pound I was hard pushed to say no. The black seaweed one looks like it might be good for unblocking pores - heres hoping. 

I saw the invisibobble's online ages ago and had wanted to get one for ages, they were just under £4 for 3 bobbles and I'm hoping they work a treat. I was a little surprised at how small they are, not sure why but the pictures of them just make them look soooo much bigger. Just me and my weirdness I guess.

Whoops I Seem To Have Another Haul...

So y'know when I said I wasn't going to spend as much? Well that lasted all of about 3 days before I actually purchased something a whole bundle of things. I was in town with my brother earlier on this week and I basically spent a whole bundle that I didn't need to. 

 The first things I got were from Boots, I've been meaning to get these Revlon shadows for ages, I thought they connected into squares and such like but it looks like they will only connect in a line... Anyhoo, they were on buy one get one half price and I had a points booster (which didn't even work...) so yeah, I got 4. The colours I got are Gunmetal, Cocoa, Taupe and Plum - Plum is my favourite so far. 

 I also got myself, what I think are a couple of new releases from Indeed Labs. The new Hydraluron Moisture Jelly has been on my radar for a little while, I had a £5 off voucher that worked with the deal they already had and I had a 300 extra points voucher. Points make free things! The Exfoliator looks to be very similar to the Dermalogia one - you know that powder one? It looks like it could be quite good and I hope it is nice to my skin. 

So I got my face done by a girl at Benefit, and she showed me this, a highlighter and the new eye liner. Since I'd been wanting this for awhile I thought I'd buy this with my points - also Laura from A Scottish Lass showed it in a haul and instantly made me want to go out and buy it. I did kinda like the liner, but I didn't notice it set properly and one of the eyes didn't look overly great, sigh. 

 Next place I went to was the good and brilliant TK Maxx. They had more than a few products that I wanted to buy and I had to actually restrain myself from going completely overboard. They had an Elemis eye cream but I decided to just go for the Dreamy Sleep Night Time Moisturiser. I really like the smell of this, it smells kind of like Lavender - good I suppose for helping you fall asleep. I've never had a night time moisturiser but I've wanted to expand my regime for awhile now and this seemed like a good way to start, especially as it was reasonably affordable at only £9.99. I went a bit moisturiser mad, and bought this Good Things Miracle Mattifier Moisturiser. Not sure why I bought this - just one of them impulse buys, but it was a cheap impulse at £3.99. 

 I'm not sure if I've mentioned, but I love my Stylfile. £4.99 though for one nail file seems a bit steep for me. My brother found this though, it was £5.99 but you get the nail file, a travel one and the buffer (I think it kind of like a 4 way styler). I'm really happy with this - its a complete bargain. Barielle Essentials Base Coat, another thing my brother found me. Bless his wee soul. My nails are so so so brittle and I basically bought this just to try strengthen them and help them grow a wee bit. For £2.99 I couldn't really turn my nose up at it. 

My brother totally understood why I bought this, my mum not so much. Okay, right so I bought this to use when washing my make-up brushes. I'd heard it was really good for cleaning brushes, so yaaah. It smells really nice, they had a citrus one in as well but I opted for the Dr Bronner's Magic Soap 18-in-1 Hemp Peppermint version. It just smells so good! It was £3.99 so pretty cheap I think.

Not Another Boots Haul

I keep telling myself I'm not going to spend anymore money, and almost as soon as the thought has occurred it seems to get chucked out my brain by the compulsive shopper in me. I'm telling myself this was an okay shop as I'm pretty sure the whole thing came to less than £8 due to most of it being clearance. Does the items being reduced mean theres something wrong with them? 

I've been meaning to try the Naked shampoo range for ages - I first noticed them when I was working in Boots back in October, they were a talking point for a few other people that worked there. None of us had tried them but all of us agreed that we wanted to. I'm not sure how much these are full price but I bought this one for £1.50, I mean how could I turn my nose up at that? This is the Naked Detox Peppermint and Sorrel Leaf 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner. It smells fairly nice, I don't smell much of the peppermint - I get more of a herbally grassy kind of smell. I don't think this will get used everyday, maybe once or twice a week as it is basically just a cleansing shampoo to get rid of build up. Its free from Sulphates, parabens and petrochemicals. So yeah, its good for your hair...

I think this was also £1.50, I'm such an impulse buyer. I think I only really bought this because I was of the impression that John Frieda is quite expensive. Just me trying to justify being a spendaholic. This is the Strength and Restore Shampoo, it claims to give your hair strength without weighing it down. Loads of shampoos seem to have on them now something along the lines of "doesn't weigh hair down". This is for breakage prone hair, this is something I definitely have. I have stupidly oily roots with really really dry split ends. When my hairs at its worst I can tug at the ends and the hair just snaps off. Joy. Maybe this will strengthen my hair - even if its just a wee bit. Its safe for coloured hair so I'll be safe with this then. 

 I love Boots Botanics range, I've tried a few parts from them and I'd been meaning to get a moisturiser from their range for awhile. And now I have one! And I only shelled out £1.75 for it! Bargain, yaaaaas! I'll be interested to see how long this controls my shine for - my Origins one doesn't give much shine control, which is a shame as its so lovely.  

I think I only bought this because it was on a deal and I had a triple points voucher. Actually, no, I'm 100% certain thats the only reason why I bought it. I don't need another mascara, this will most possibly just sit in a drawer until I eventually get to it, I've got more than 10 mascaras - and theres no need for that. 

Fingers crossed there wont be another haul of any kind for a little while, I'm jobless and fast becoming penniless.

Mini Boots Haul

This is basically the first proper couple of things I've bought for ages from Boots. The foundation is actually my mums but it seems really cool so I thought I would mention it - since I plan on reviewing it soon. 

Champneys Foot Butter. My feet are horrendous, so dry and hard and just genuinely not in great shape. I bought this - amazingly scented butter - in hope that it would soften my feet up a bit. The peppermint smell is lovely and I'm really looking forward to  applying this and seeing if it does a good job. I think this was £8, more than I would usually pay for something like this but it smelt too good to resist. 

If I'm being completely honest I don't know why I bought this - its basically the same price as the Liz Earle one and I've never seen this reviewed before - so y'know I thought I would give it a try. At £10.50 I expect good things.

This looks really cool, I applied a little bit on my mums face and it blended in really well. I'll be interested to see if it looks just as good on my mums darker and more yellow toned skin as it does on my pale pink toned skin. I'll keep you posted, for £15.99 this better be amazing!

OOTD | Lunch With Friends

I barely leave my house these days, believe me when I say my social life is practically dead. Today though I did venture outside and it was a reasonably nice day outside - chilly wind but nice sunshine. I haven't seen a lot of my friends from school for quite awhile and it genuinely saddens me that we saw each other almost everyday last year and now we barely see each other. But anyhoo, we went to Wetherspoons and had a really lovely - and really cheap - lunch. Since I dressed up a little I thought I would share my outfit with y'all.

 I actually really love how this outfit looks. It looks fairly dressy despite it not being overly much - if that makes sense? I've hardly worn my red vest from Oasis so I thought it was time to bust it out. I also decided on wearing my lovely little Newlook booties since I forgot that I even had them, I also forgot how much they hurt my feet. My absolute favourite part of my wardrobe is my TopShop Treggings, I've pretty much wore them to death and am in dire need of a new pair.

Joules | Fabulous Fingers and Toes set

The only part of my body - apart from my face - that I make an effort to take care of is my feet. that could be because when I was younger I got an infection in my foot that travelled up my leg - it hurt so so so much. Ever since then I have made an effort to look after my feet. My feet still don't appreciate the effort. Any sets for foot care I tend to jump at the chance to get. So when I saw this one by Joules in the Boots sale I didn't think twice at picking it up. I hadn't seen this in the store before the sale - hence why I didn't pick it up sooner.
I got this for a measly £7 (£8 without staff discount). Even if the products were rubbish, I now have a pretty box and a pack of mini nail files. I think the little pack of mini nail files was a nice little extra - and for me a much needed item. I always seem to break my nails when I'm out and never have a nail file to stop it breaking to far - I usually end up with one really short nail and the rest are long. The little nail file pack contains 6 mini nail files and are a pink and white box print - similar to the foot lotions print.

The set contains basically everything you could need to take care of you hands and feet. You get their Tantalising Toes Foot Scrub, Fabulous Feet Foot Lotion, small bar of soap, How Handy Hand Cream and a foot rock - for buffing away dead skin. Something in the tin smells really zesty - but from having a sniff at the products I can't actually figure out what it is that smells like that - I figure it has to be the soap, right?

I've had a foot rock in the past and I quite liked it - but my mum got me a PedEgg, so it got replaced. I will use the little foot rock in the bath when my skins a bit softer - it might be slightly easier to soften my skin up.

The How Handy Cream has a slight lemony scent to it - which now makes me think the zesty scent is coming from all the products. When I first used it I thought the cream would be slightly harder in consistency than it was - more body butter feeling. It just looks hard, but its not. It's a really soft, quickly absorbing cream. It instantly makes your hands feel silky soft, and it definitely has a slight lemony scent to it. The little tub contains 50ml of product - Soap and Glory's travel sized Hand Food has the same amount of product as this. I think I would prefer to carry the small tub in my bag over a small tube - it just seems more compact and like it would take up less space.
The bar of soap - now is this a body soap or just a hand soap? I think I'll keep it as just a hand soap, keep it on my sink for people to use. It has the same sort of scent as the hand cream, and is 50g of soap. I've not taken its wrapper off yet - purely down to the fact that the wrapping for it is so darn cute. The little floral pattern with the joules rabbit holding it together - I mean how could you remove that?

 I kind of love the name of this scrub - Tantalising Toes. How cool is that?! Of the times I've used this scrub I've used it with the foot stone to give my feet a good buffing - they deserve to have the living daylight buffed out of them. First few time the dry skin didn't completely go away - but the bits that were once really hard had begun to soften up.

The name of this isn't nearly as cool, but the lotion is pretty darn good - so that makes up for the lack of a cool name. Again, the same as the soap and hand cream, it has a lemony zesty scent. After using the foot scrub ( which I tried to use every other day) I applied this. Even on days that I hadn't used the scrub I applied this. I applied a good dollop onto my feet then put a pair of socks on over the top to make sure my feet got a really good moisturising.

Boots Natural Collection Passionfruit Body Spray

When I was working in Boots I spent a lot of time fixing the shelves - which meant I got to see products that I would't normally have seen before. This meant by the time I left after each shift I had a mental list of products that I wanted to buy and try next time I came in. One of the products that I saw and bought was one of Boots own branded products. I picked up their Natural Collection Passionfruit Body spray a couple of weeks ago - I actually picked up two but I sent one to my Secret Santa - I really wanted to get more of the scents but Christmas shoppers had cleared the shelves. At the time I had smelled them all - I think there is 6 different scents? And I had decided that the Passionfruit one smelled the best. Ice Musk, also smelled heavenly. They sell for £2, super cheap, and there is 150ml of spray. The packaging is simple but cute. And the smell oh my. Its fresh and fruity, at first the smell may seem a little strong - so don't spray it lots! But when it dies down you're left with a really lovely fruity smell. You could probably use this as a room spray since the smell is so strong and lasts for a fairly long time. I really would recommend you go smell all of the scents from this line, they smell beautiful.

Sales Haul | Urban Outfitters, Boots, Debenhams ect

So yesterday, the 30th, I went into town with my mum after I finished work. There are just some shops that Braehead doesn't have - like TK Maxx, John Lewis and of course Urban Outfitters. Urban Outfitters is possibly my favourite clothing store - and definitely my favourite more expensive clothing store.
Anyhoo, on to the haul. When I got into town I met up with my mum and brother, the first place we went to was TK Maxx - I didn't get anything from there but I did find a Korres moisturiser that I was really close to buying and a big ceramic owl storage pot. I had to hold myself back and really ask myself if I needed it - the answer was no to both. But all I can think about is that owl pot!!!
The first shop I actually bought something from was Debenhams, I had £5 on my debenhams beauty card so I used that on my purchase. The first thing I picked up was from Philosophy, I had seen their Christmas stuff every day in work, and was practically drooling over it. I decided when I saw their little area that I was for sure going to pick something up since it was 50% off all their Christmas items, the one I went for was the Peppermint Stick.

Basically all of Philosophy's items are like 3 in 1s. This one is a shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath. How good is that!! 3 in 1 baby. Not sure how my hair would react to this but I do definitely think this would make such an amazing body wash and bubble bath. Imagine if you had a cold and you went for a bath with this - it would make your cold disappear. For £7 down from £14 is a total steal.
The only other thing I got - which is possibly my favourite thing ever - was from bareMinerals. Its their Affair to Remember palette - I think this is a party type palette as its got a fair few shimmer colours. I do love this little palette and I'll probably cry when this gets scratched.

How pretty are those colours?! There are 4 matt(ish) colours and 4 shimmery colours. There's a white - with a slight shimmer and a tiny hint of pink, a pretty brown that looks like its a tiny bit metallic, a salmon pink colour, a shimmer dark purple, a matte lilac, a slightly shimmery grey/blue, metallic purple and a sort of greeny brown. This is such a beautiful palette, some of the colours are less wearable day to day than others but I think this will be a prefect palette for a special occasion or a night out.

Next up was Urban Outfitters. They always have an epic sale and I decided I absolutely had to have a look to see if I could find any little treasures. I made the fatal mistake though of checking their website first though - going to have to put a little online order to get the few things I couldn't get in store. First thing I saw was something I didn't have in mind when I went in, and it is this cropped green coloured jumper. Its super soft and really cosy. Everything you could ever want in a jumper. Although I say its cropped - as you can see its still reasonably long. It was £30 down from £45 and I got student discount on top of it. Gotta love the Urban Outfitters sale. The picture makes it look a lot more blue then it actually is - so sorry about that.

I also got myself a skirt. I say I, but what I mean is my mum kindly bought me it. Its a really dark green/ blue colour with white leaves and little flowers on it. The skirt also has a zip going right up the front of it which is a really cool detail - at least I think it is. It was £25 down from £38 - bargain. Theres another skirt I'm going to buy online later since I couldn't find it in the shop.

The final thing I bought from Urban Outfitters was this beautiful dress - I want to say its a smock dress? Its not something I would usually go for but when I tried it on I fell completely in love with it. And the jumper goes with it!! This was also £30 (£27 with discount) down from £55, that I think is such a good deal.
There is so much jewellery that I want from UO, but I think I'll just have to wait for that.
Next up - really the proper first place I went - was Boots. I had a wee look again before I started my shift, and I managed to pick up a couple of gems. I bought two different sets and paid a total of £14 ( £16 with out staff discount)

I wasn't planning on looking at the sale stuff, but at I walked past I noticed some Soap and Glory sets. So, y'know I just had to wander over and have a look. I decided I was going to buy the Eye Box kit, this is quite an impressive set - even if it was full price its amazing value. You get their Thick and Fast Mascara, 6 shadows, a little brush and one of their waterproof kohl eye liners. It is quite a bulky palette, which is maybe its only downfall but I don't mind as I'm going to be getting some new storage very soon. IM SO EXCITED!!!!

Next up was something that I had looked at online - Joules Fabulous Fingers & Toes set. I hadn't seen this in my store for a couple of weeks so I was really surprised when I saw it. The set contains: a foot scrub, soap, hand cream, a foot scrub rock and a foot cream. They also have a little set on mini nail files tied onto the box - I'll definately be putting them in my bag.
The last place I went to was John Lewis. This was a very nail orientated purchase, as both things I got, all £21 of it, was nail polish. The first thing I saw was this little set by Ciate - I saw this on their website both before and during the sales and decided if I could get it in the shop then I would definitely get it.

I managed to pick up the Ciate Red Velvet nail set for £7 - half price! £14 is still pretty amazing for a nail set like this. The red one was the obvious choice for me - I mostly wear reds on my nails - I just think it looks so sleek and classy. And fuzzy red nails just seems like the best thing ever.

My final purchase for this shopping trip was the Nails Inc My Nail Polish Diary. Oh Em Gee. I was under the impression that is was sold out basically everywhere, so when I saw it on one of the shelves ends in John Lewis I practically ran across the store to grab it. When I saw it I didn't even think about buy it - I just knew I was going to buy it. No question about it. I actually thought these would be miniatures, but no it contains 12 full sized nail polishes. I got this for £21 down from £45(I think) and considering these are £11 each that is such an amazing deal - even full priced.

So thats everything I bought on this shopping trip. 

There will probably be another sales haul like this soon.
