Small Boots Haul

I went and spent some Boots points the other day, so here is the results of my little spree. 
I really only went in with the idea of getting a pale coloured nail polish - preferably a grey one. I definitely didn't plan to get most of this. 

I noticed these new blushers from Collection that looked pretty cool so I decided to get one of them, if they are good then I'll be sure to get more. They claim to be mistake proof, and I suck so badly at blusher so we'll soon see if they live up to their claims. 

The only things I planned on getting were these nail polishes, the colours look so lovely on and I've decided the Rimmel Rita Ora one is my new favourite (its in the shade Rain Rain Go Away). Its just such a lovely pale grey purple shade. The Barry M one is in the shade Almond (I think...) 

Final two things now, both are contour kits - why I thought I needed two is beyond me. The first kit I saw was the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit and the other is the new Maybelline Mastersculpt kit in the shade light medium. Hopefully my pale skin doesn't look orange with these...

Not Another Boots Haul

I keep telling myself I'm not going to spend anymore money, and almost as soon as the thought has occurred it seems to get chucked out my brain by the compulsive shopper in me. I'm telling myself this was an okay shop as I'm pretty sure the whole thing came to less than £8 due to most of it being clearance. Does the items being reduced mean theres something wrong with them? 

I've been meaning to try the Naked shampoo range for ages - I first noticed them when I was working in Boots back in October, they were a talking point for a few other people that worked there. None of us had tried them but all of us agreed that we wanted to. I'm not sure how much these are full price but I bought this one for £1.50, I mean how could I turn my nose up at that? This is the Naked Detox Peppermint and Sorrel Leaf 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner. It smells fairly nice, I don't smell much of the peppermint - I get more of a herbally grassy kind of smell. I don't think this will get used everyday, maybe once or twice a week as it is basically just a cleansing shampoo to get rid of build up. Its free from Sulphates, parabens and petrochemicals. So yeah, its good for your hair...

I think this was also £1.50, I'm such an impulse buyer. I think I only really bought this because I was of the impression that John Frieda is quite expensive. Just me trying to justify being a spendaholic. This is the Strength and Restore Shampoo, it claims to give your hair strength without weighing it down. Loads of shampoos seem to have on them now something along the lines of "doesn't weigh hair down". This is for breakage prone hair, this is something I definitely have. I have stupidly oily roots with really really dry split ends. When my hairs at its worst I can tug at the ends and the hair just snaps off. Joy. Maybe this will strengthen my hair - even if its just a wee bit. Its safe for coloured hair so I'll be safe with this then. 

 I love Boots Botanics range, I've tried a few parts from them and I'd been meaning to get a moisturiser from their range for awhile. And now I have one! And I only shelled out £1.75 for it! Bargain, yaaaaas! I'll be interested to see how long this controls my shine for - my Origins one doesn't give much shine control, which is a shame as its so lovely.  

I think I only bought this because it was on a deal and I had a triple points voucher. Actually, no, I'm 100% certain thats the only reason why I bought it. I don't need another mascara, this will most possibly just sit in a drawer until I eventually get to it, I've got more than 10 mascaras - and theres no need for that. 

Fingers crossed there wont be another haul of any kind for a little while, I'm jobless and fast becoming penniless.

How Much Is Your Face Worth | TAG

I've seen this TAG floating around for quite awhile, and I love reading a lot of them and found them really interesting as you get to see how much people spend on their make-up and what it is they use on a daily basis. It kind of doubles up as a daily make-up post.

Thats a bit crazy... Almost £200 worth of make-up goes on my face every day! All the products I've put down are the ones I've been using basically every single day recently, its a routine that I've been really enjoying and will continue to do.

Theres a couple of girls that I'd love to see do this - Zoe, Rena, Charlotte and Ella, if you lovely ladies haven't done this then I've love to see what you write!

Seventeen Phwoarr Paint

I had never needed to use concealer, not really. But now University, well its changed me. I'm always tired, and my eyes, oh my eyes! My dark circles and eye bags are ridiculous. I've never had them before so didn't quite know how to deal with them. I bought myself Seventeen's Phwoarr paint, and thank the lord I did.

Apologies for this being used, and a little mucky. The concealer is so thick and creamy, it doesn't feel heavy under the eyes. It only comes in two shades, fair - which I have - and medium. The shade light blends in really easily, it covers up all the darkness and puffiness that my lack of sleep has caused. It makes my under eye area look really nice, and glowy.
For £5.49 this is a seriously brilliant under eye concealer. The packaging isn't anything special, but personally I like it. Small black, circular compact with quite a big mirror for the size of the compact. I would seriously recommend this to anyone with absolutely any under eye problems - or even if you just want a concealer to make your eyes look brighter.

Boots Haul

I didn't break my spending ban I swear! I did however buy this stuff the day before I started my spending ban. I probably didn't need any of this, but I justified it by the fact that I had been wanting the things for quite awhile. So, yeah... I bought a few quite a bit of make-up and one bit of skin care - my skin care item was definitely not needed. I thought I would mention now that I am sorry at the terrible picture quality, didn't notice how bad they were till after I uploaded. Also sorry for the next picture, it wasn't on my camera so I had to re-take it hence the different location.

I've never been one for doing anything with my eye brows - at least not on a daily basis. But I decided while having a little look around Boots that I would maybe try some eye brow products. The ones I bought were from Maybelline, I think they are relatively new? I got the Maybelline Master Shape brow pencil since it looked pretty good and was really affordable at just £2.99. I got the colour Soft Brown, I'm not 100% sure if this is the right colour for my brows - but they only have two colour choices and this was the darker of the two. I'm going to give it a go though and see how it goes.

I also bought the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara. I got the colour Medium Brown, and again I'm not 100% sure if this is the right colour for me. They had a few colour options, and this looked like it should be my colour - I'm not sure though. Hopefully it does match my eye brow colour though, loads of people have been talking about this and I hope it is as good as they have been saying. It was £4.99, so even if it doesn't suit me then it's not like I've wasted a fortune on it.

I also got myself a couple of Soap and Glory products, I have been wanting to try some Soap and Glory make-up for so long, I don't really know why I haven't picked anything up from them before. I love Soap and Glory bath and body stuff, so I'm hoping I love the make-up just as much. The first item I got was the Kick Ass Concealer, this hasn't been on my "want" list for as long as some other things but it has been on there for quite awhile. It got the colour Light, this looks like a pretty impressive little concealer. Its a three step concealer kit - can I call it a kit? Step 1 and 2 are the concealers, one is a slightly pink toned and the other is more yellowy. Does anyone know what the different concealers are for? Step 3 is a little setting powder, so your concealer stays in place. There is a little powder puff type thing in the powder section - the powder is in a flip up section above the concealers. In the concealer section there is a decent sized mirror. The concealer is quite compact, its smaller than the palm of my hand so if you want to take it about with you, then you can with ease. It costs £10 to buy, I got mine from Boots while they had a buy one get 2nd half price so I got this for £5. The packaging is nice as well, but I won't go into that just now otherwise this post will be crazy long.

Also from Soap and Glory I bought One Heck of a Blot, this is probably the item that has been on my wish list for the longest. And now I finally have it! I have Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, I like it don't get me wrong, but I think it could be better. I've wanted this for ages because some people say that they do think it is better than Stay Matte. It is a little bit more expensive than the Rimmel one, as this one is £12 to buy, so hopefully it is worth the money. The packaging is super cute - what else can you expect from Soap and Glory.

The last couple of make-up bits I got were from Seventeen. These haven't been on my wishlist for very long - a couple of weeks probably. Ever since I saw these I wanted to try them. What can I say I love make-up. Some people buy shoes or bags - I buy make-up. Seventeen have been brining out a lot of products recently, I've not tried many of them but these caught my eye. The Phwoarr Paint - a heavy duty under eye concealer - and the Flawless Poreless Primer. I got the phwoarr paint in the shade fair, since that was the lightest one. I've never had a problem with dark circles or anything before but the early university starts and the lack of sleep is beginning to get to me and my eyes are looking a little dark. The phwoarr paint costs £5.49, pretty good for a good under eye concealer.

My make-up does not stay on my face very long, not at all. Slightly annoying, as by around 3pm I'm left looking washed out and extremely tired. I've tried most cheaper primers with no luck so far. The Flawless Poreless Primer will hopefully do something to help my make-up last longer. It feels really creamy, I don;t have a problem with pores so I'm hoping this still does something for me. This costs slightly more than the concealer at £5.99. Its super cheap, so its worth a go.

The last thing I bought was the La Roche-Posay Efficlar Duo, again university life has not been treating me to well. Late nights, early morning, excessive amounts of alcohol - that is never a good idea - and eating badly has made my skin oilier and spottier than usual. I really only decided to buy this as it was cheaper than usual - £9.75. Hopefully this will balance out my skin, it certainly couldn't make it any worse.
